I’m doing an unboxing of this aluminum thermostat housing assembly, and it is nice quality. It is great that this is made of metal rather than the conventional plastic versions, which makes it feel much more durable right out of the box. It was easy to set up since it’s designed to be a replacement for original factory parts and features a thickened washer for a tight, effortless fit. ​This precision die-cast aluminum assembly is compatible with several models, including the 2012-2020 Chevy Sonic, and it’s built to withstand extreme temperatures. I'm putting this update piece in the car this weekend and am excited to see how it performs. While it seems very sturdy and is rated to handle a 5-ton pressure test, I really have to test it out on the road to find out for sure. I plan to update this review in a few months after it has some real-world wear and use. ​It’s a solid-looking engine component. I’ll need to see how it handles the heat over time, but the upgraded material and stable build make my first impression of this product good.
