Cocktail Chameleon - Assouline Coffee Table Book

One of the best looking coffee table books in our collection. Lots of neat recipes via the cool approach of expanding on 12 classics. A lot of pretty rare ingredients and complicated garnishes means I don’t think anyone can make all 144 of these cocktails, but you can get close and some are really tasty.

Great recipes and not hard to make. My favorites so far are the margarita recipes...uses all fresh ingredients. I am going to start venturing out to try the others.

This book is truly stunning--a work of art that you will want to keep on your coffee table for friends to peruse. The photographs are gorgeous. The production quality is that of a top notch art book. It is clear that so much thought and care went into everything from the images and the writing to the layout and typefaces. But Cocktail Chameleon is also super useful and informative. The writing is fun and punchy. Mark Addison comes off as your fun, hip, and super knowledgeable friend. The back story on cocktail culture and the history of each of the 12 classic drinks is interesting. And each of the 12 riffs on the classics are so fun and imaginative. I made the Arnold Palmer Collins for dinner guests and they just raved about it. I've had the pleasure of trying several others. The Provence, the Markarita, the Sangria Flora, Pom Pear, and La Seville are all delicious and truly remarkable in their own way. There are so many more I want to try and others I just marvel at like the Anti-Gravity. I highly recommend this book. It's a great addition to any home bar, so fun to flip through, and a great conversation piece. You will wish the author could come over and hang out to chat about cocktails and mix up batches of yummy drinks for you and your friends.

This book comes out before all of my parties as the first step in planning process! The recipes are not only easy to follow, but the ingredients are normal things found in your kitchen!! The best part may be the recipes for rims and infused booze at the end of the book. Way to go Mark.. this book is an amazing must-have.

Cocktail Chameleon, is one of the most innovated and well presented cocktail books out there! In my past I served as a function and tavern bartender. I would have loved to have had this book at my fingertips! Not only is is filled with some incredible cocktail recipes, glassware ideas, and over all fun party ideas, but it is a great book to have out during a party! Mark Addison, is second to none when it comes to his creative, well thought out cocktail ideas that offers traditional drinks a splash of his unique twist. This is a must have book for planning your next function or party!
