3/8" Barb x 1/4" NPT Male 90 Degree Elbow Brass Hose Fitting, Adapter for Air, Water, Fuel Line

These fittings are solid brass and well made. The threads are clean and the barb has enough ridges to make a good seal. It is also important that the elbow on the fitting is squared. That makes it easy to grab with a wrench or pliers when attaching it. I used these to adapt an air hose. I needed the right-angle for my hose reel. I used teflon tape when attaching the threaded end to the connector on the spool. When I attached the 3/8 hose to the barb end, I used a small hose clamp to secure it. That is necessary for the pressure a compressor can produce. The hose clamp is not the best looking thing and I taped it to prevent the tab from rubbing on the other tubing when spooled. I think it would work best with an Oetiker clamp, so the crimp is permanent and there are not sharp tabs sticking out.
