I love this Oatmeal it’s fast and tastes just like the one you cook for 1 hr! So convenient

I took a set of these to the shore on vacation for ease of making breakfast. Most oatmeals don't say to use hot water, but my steel-cut regular brand works the best that way (starting with hot water helps the oats pop and produce a creamy finished product). If you add hot water to this, your cup will become a volcano and make a mess. Cold water and exactly the time specified will work, and let it sit closed while you get your drink (coffee, tea, orange juice) to get that end result you want. Taste-wise, I add bananas and blueberries to offset the blandish flavor, but it is oatmeal after all, so yes it's expected.

I use milk and add raisins and walnuts after heating. Make sure you let it sit covered so the oats soak up the milk. I don't add sweetener and it's delicious.

These oats are delicious. Expensive but delicious. Very healthy.
