Amazing, but beware of issues with USB C
Finally brilliant speeds on small external drive.Pros:- Incredibly fast- Smaller than a 2.5” enclosure- No compatibility issues (caveat below) in terms of initializing and accessing the drive using a Samsung nvme ssd, current gen.Cons:- IMPORTANT! Using a USB C to C cable, my Windows 10 desktop AND laptop accessed this disk at USB 2.0 speeds!! I was unable to correct this. HOWEVER, using a type C to type A cable plugged into a superspeed type A Port, I got full USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds on both my desktop and laptop. If your computer has only type C for superspeed, I would suggest waiting until you find references to this issue having been resolved.- While it is smaller than a 2.5” enclosure, it is also much bigger than the m.2 sata enclosures I have seen. This seems to be due to the ample heatsink and vents. I am pretty sure they would not have designed it this way if overheating had not been an issue with smaller closed enclosures and nvme.It still gets 4 stars because, using C to A, I now have an insanely fast external drive with no compatibility issues, and it works fine (tested) with both USB 3 and USB 2 when needed.I have been waiting for some time to be able to do this.

Do not waste your money on this.
Absolutely terrible piece of equipment, would recommend steering way clear of this. The LEDs are a complete gimmick and downright distracting, every time you load something from your drive it flashes bright blue repeatedly and there’s no real getting away from it. It’s just annoying. My Samsung 970 EVO repeatedly overheated within the thick oven-like aluminium casing, and obviously the heat from each individual LED didn’t help this. I’d be in the middle of playing a game or watching a movie and the drive would just cut out, it becomes burning hot (too hot to touch) under almost any load. Absolute joke if I’m being completely honest.

Works but only with a bit of IT knowhow
I work in IT so it wasn't an issue for me but after fitting the drive in the caddy and plugging it in to my laptop it initially popped up a message that it couldn't access the drive because it was bitlocked and asked for a 48 digit code, not a good start. I manged to get round this by formatting the drive but I'm sure the bitlocked message will confuse a few other users, else I would have gave it an extra star.

piece of crap
It never worked. I'm a fully experienced IT guy, with three different systems to play around (linux / windows / macosx). It didn't work with any of my three nvme ssds, including samsung 860 evo and 870 evo. Didn't work neither with the attached cable, nor any of the high quality usb c cables I have here. The system will recognize the micron controller and load the drivers, and then start with I/O errors of different types in an endless loop. The disk is never available or accessible.

It works, but the supplied cable is useless
The enclosure works, but only after swapping out the supplied cable for one of my own - it wouldn't maintain connection. Works flawlessly with the USB C cable from my OnePlus Dash charger though.
