Incompatible with Our United Aircraft
This purchase was a complete bust. The plug adapter would not fit in the airplane outlet. We flew Business class on what I believe was a Boeing 777 to London. I bought the adapter to use my comfortable earplugs to watch movies because the airplane headphones hurt my ears. I could plug the headphones in to the adapter, but the adapter would not plug into the plane. When I compared the adapter to the furnished headphones, it was obvious that while the two prongs on the adapter were the same length, the plug on the airplane headphones had one prong that was slightly shorter. The result was incompatibility. Fortunately they were cheap so not much money was wasted.

Works well for connecting to airline audio recepticale
My wife and I have used these on a few flights now and for the money it's a great buy. My only complaint, as they work the way they're supposed to, is that the plastic body is apparently just snapped together over the metal adapter connections and the one I was using on my last flight decided to unsnap resulting in the loss of half the cover between the seats. While it still worked, and with a pack of 4 I've got extra, a little it of glue during assembly would have prevented this. It's not like this is a repairable item that will require disassembly. So 1 star removed for construction.
