I have never read the Ramchal before, but have heard many great things. After reading a couple of chapters, I wasn't disappointed in the least! The Ramchal gives a much simpler explanation of esoteric concepts in relation to G-d and the purpose of man that is easy for those who are studying Judaism at an intermediate level.However, my suggestion is to definitely study this with another person, who is also studying at an intermediate level, under the guidance of a rabbi in order to enhance the study of this great work!

Without question, the best entry into the world of Jewish Mystical thought. Luzatto is the bridge from the medieval mind of the Ari (Luria) to the post-enlightenment sensibilities we can understand,Other texts I've seen are largely the fantasies of the authors. Luzatto was the pioneer and Kaplan's translation is the best I think anyone could possibly do.

This is a very well done book. I am so happy I chose this edition and with Hebrew and English. I think this should be a required reading for all Jews and righteous Gentiles.

clearer than most Rabbinical teachings, in this dual language edition on the RamChal's religious rather than Qabalistic ideas are laid out clearly. Perhaps the best section discusses the role of Evil in our World, theodicy being one of the biggest hurdles to Faith. Amazing book.

It got better and better as I read it, the essay at the end is a great, concise summary. Will read it again eventually and recommend to friends and family.

the cover the book I received was filthy with some kind of gunk all over it. In addition to that theres a gash on the cover!
