A good espionage story
The movie is based on Jason Matthews’s book of the same title. The book did extremely well because the author is ex-CIA and had displayed considerable inner knowledge of working of Kremlin and FSB (the then KGB) as well as CIA’s efforts in tackling the modern day Russia and Putin! The movie is well shot, screen play is taught, at times, the speed with which things happen, is likely to flummox those who have not read the book. Jennifer Lawrence bears the complex role of Dominika Egorova well, especially, in the light of the fact that she is made to opt for becoming one of the red sparrows who are trained to use their person to honey trap foreign agents. Charlotte Rampling has done a superb role of the ruthless Matron who trains red sparrows in a far flung facility in Moscow. Matthais Schoenaerts as Dominika’s selfish uncle does well too. It’s also delight to see the old reliable Jeremy Irons as one of the important characters in the plot.The movie is faithfully close to the book but takes a huge departure too. In what way the movie departs from the book is for the viewers to read the book and find out! Suffice to say that the change does not affect the movie adversely and makes it equally interesting and thrilling!

Friends one more thing which finished of blue ray apart from abnormal pricing and delayed release. Now not a single BLUE ray player IS available in India and Excel company is wise enough to release the blue ray in B And C region code. Now most of us are getting blue ray players from USA through Amazon which are region A or can play region free blue ray. So taking everything into account this blue ray may not work in many blue ray players in India
