Sunbeam Restful Quilted Heated Mattress Pad - Full, White

So we had a mattress pad for years until our house burned down. I have been looking for a replacement for almost a year now but was reluctant to spend $120-$150 for a new one. I finally took the plunge on this one due to the reviews and pricing point and I am glad that I did. I missed having my bed warm when I get in it and the Pre-heat function on this item can't be beat. I bought the King Size with dual control. I would like to address some of the negative reviews that I have seen on this item.First is the location of the plug. Yes, it is at the foot of the bed and is located on top of the bed instead of on the side. This was my main concern when I purchased this because my old mattress pad had the plug on the side. I have had no issues with the location of this plug. It is in the center of the bed so I do not hit it since I sleep on one side. I would like to note that if you were a person who was tall AND slept in the middle of the bed, I could see how this would be annoying but I think that simply placing the plug at the top where it would be under your pillow would be a solution. For myself, this was a non issue.Second is how hot the pad gets. I will agree that this thing is very warm on low settings. I did try to place the setting on High and it was just too hot. I like to sleep very warm and my setting doesn't go past 2. I have a routine of turning it on pre-heat about 10 minutes before I am ready for bed and by the time I crawl in, the bed is so very warm and the setting is already at 2. I don't have to worry about remembering to turn off the heater when I get up in the morning because it does shut off after 10 hours. I will agree with other reviewers that the ability to select the number of hours to shut off would be very nice but for the price, I can deal with what I got.The third complaint is feeling the wires when you sleep at night. I put the heated mattress pad on my mattress and then put a waterproof mattress pad over it and then my sheets and I can still feel the wires slightly. Not so much that it bothers me but I could see it bothering someone who was sensitive to that. If you have the ability to add another layer of something between you and the heated mattress pad that would help with reducing how much you feel. For me, this was a non issue because it didn't bother me and I wasn't expecting something plush with the price point of this item. If even the slightest feel of the wires will bother you, then I would recommend spending the extra money on one that has a higher fill content.Overall, I am very please with my purchase. So much so, that I bought two more in Twin size for my boys. They have permanently camped out in my bed since I have had this item and I know the only way to get them back to their own beds is to give them one of their own. Since I have only had this item for about 3 weeks now, I can't comment on its longevity but I will make it a point to update this review in a year to comment on that part. If you want a heated mattress pad that is functional and reasonably priced, try this one.Update 04/11/18: So I took longer to update this review than expected but I still agree with my original review. The pad has held up beautifully and works as good today as it did on day one. Even the ones I purchased for my kids are still going strong. This heated pad hasn't let me down and I feel that it is a great product for its longevity and working like it should. I would like to see future versions of this item get an adjustable timer but that might increase the price. This is a great heated pad and I didn't have to pay a fortune for it. If you are on the fence, get off and buy this one.Update 01/16/23: The heating pad is still going strong. I have noticed that I can now tolerate a higher level heat (now 5). Not sure if it is because I have gotten older thus colder (LOL) or if the heating element may be degrading. I'm still warm at night so I'm still very happy with this purchase. I originally bought this back in 2016 and here we are in 2023 and it is going strong. I feel that I have gotten my money's worth and if it ever dies on me, I will be buying a new one.

Very nice and certainly can feel the warmth. Bought 1 and had to get another for the other son. They use them all through fall and winter.

I live in Maine and it can get pretty cold up here. I moved here at the beginning of winter and I was so not ready for the cold, but then I got this heater pad and (I’m not even exaggerating) it’s kind of change my life. I sleep so comfortably all night. I put this thing on at like 3 or 4 heat setting for the night and I don’t even have to run the heat. And it’s literally the most comfortable sleep I’ve had in a long time. It’s also great for those of us who hate climbing into a cold bed. I turn this baby on 5 minutes before hoping in and it is nice and toasty. I love everything about it. I could not recommend this product enough. It’s got dual controls so even though I like the warmth and my boyfriend likes the cold, we get the best of both worlds because we have complete control over the settings for our sides of the bed. And lastly, it gets pretty hot. I usually set it to 5 and then turn it down to 3 when I sleep, but it goes all the way up to 12, and it will run all night, but I can set it by the hour.

All in all it is a very solid product. It’s easy to set up, beats up quickly, and gets very warm. I have it set to one of the lower settings throughout the night and it works very well. It has a nice fit to our queen mattress, you can barely tell there’s a heated mattress cover under the sheets, and you can’t feel the wires within the pad itself. All in all it’s very comfortable, by only complaint has nothing to do with the functionality, the buttons on the controls click a little loud which has woken our little one up a couple times. Again, not a big deal as once you set it, there’s no problem at all. Would rate 5 stars, but I want to use the product another couple months to ensure good quality, will update more In the future.

I appreciate getting into a warm bed because I turn the pad on prior to bedtime, Very comfortable and cozy soft. It also keeps me warm during the night as needed.

I bought this to replace the old Sunbeam that just finally stopped working after almost years. I read a lot of reviews that the later products of Sunbeam were not of equal quality as the older ones, so I bought with trepidation.It has been in use since late November and it works perfectly so far. It heats up quite fast.A lot of people wrote that there is a gap between the two sides of the heating coil, but I did not find that to be any problem. The gap seems to be at the natural space between the two occupants of a queen bed.I did not find that the coil is obtrusive. Once you put the sheet on, you do feel a little bit of the wire when you lay on top of the bed, but it was not so pronounced as to be disturbing to your sleep.So I recommend this product.

I got this hoping for some warmth but not killer heat. I usually use an electric blanket. Mine stopped working after 9 years. I hoped to find another. I bought 2 different blankets, name brand. The controls wouldn't work turning the blankets heat to 1 or 2. After a week of each I returned them. The heat was unbearable and uncontrollable I had to turn the blankets off. There's No heat in my bedroom. I decided to try the heated mattress pad. The control works. I can keep the warmth low. I'm comfortable and able to sleep. This brand had good independent ratings so I'm hoping for a nice long relationship. My brother has one and he loves it.

My girlfriend and I like to sleep in a cool room with warm blankets, only I liked the room cooler than her and she'd get chilly. Boom, with this, the bed's always just right and I can turn the heat nearly off overnight! Saves us money on our heating bill and the bed is just oh-so-welcoming.So naturally, my daughter wanted one of her own. This twin-sized one was for her, and she loves it.The heat goes from basically not noticeable (1) to about my own body temperature (4, which is how I like to sleep) to really hot like you wanna melt those muscles knots in your back (8) to "oh no my bed's going to catch fire" (12, which I use for about 5 minutes to preheat the bed). I sometimes feel like any heat beyond 6 isn't really useful for anything, but it's nice to have the option!The auto-shutoff works great. The only minor complaint is that the screen stays on (with the LED off, of course) once the auto-shutoff did its thing, and I think you can't adjust the heat without turning it off and on again. It's just a minor nuisance and nothing I'd fight over, it's just a little quirk you have to learn.Overall I love it, and I don't see myself surviving winters without one anymore.
