This is a difficult book to study - Swindoll makes it manageable and also makes sense out of many of the challenging passages. Good life lessons.

So, this is the book about the life of Job - a Biblical character who suffers great tragedy and learns his proper position in life. Swindoll has an entire series of these books - they explore a little deeper into the Biblical character and connect some life principles that you can take and apply to your own walk. Swindoll does a great job with this book and there are some real "gold nuggets" of Biblical truth and wisdom that you'll walk away with. Great book to use in a group study to keep you accountable to the reading and to get some variety in the take-aways from the book.

An excellent insight into why bad things happen to us all. A walk through the life of a righteous man and the devastation that life on this earth can bring. Swindoll attempts to answer the question , “ Why would a good God allow bad things to happen to good people, anyone in fact ?“. He gives keys , principles and a guiding light for anyone walking in the dark moments of life”. A must read if you Intend to walk by faith when the inevitable storms of life come knocking at your door unannounced. Take your time and walk through the chapters, arm yourself for future battles ahead. You will be glad you took the time to prepare.

Swindoll has a way of opening God's Word that is a true gift. Without being "stuffy" but in a manner that will unfold God's truth with grace. His book is so readable and so poignantly presented one wants to read and reread to be challenged and absorb God's truth. Wonderful book...sheds so much light on God's purpose in suffering and trials. Read it..You won't be disappointed.

The cover was in used condition with corners somewhat bent, pock marks all over cover, dried food or ? in two places. I purchased book with it stating it was new. I am disappointed but will not return. Dearly love the author and this series of books but probably won’t purchase from this seller again.

Well written and in-depth analysis.

I am currently on hospice care with perhaps 3 months to live because of brain tumors. Before reading this book I had gone through a "dark period" when God's voice was silent. After prayer with my hospice chaplain I came out of the dark place but wanted something to fortify me as I grow weaker. This is not just a commentary ! Swindoll does explain every. passage,but he also weaves in personal stories that apply to our lives. This is a wonderful book for anyone living with hurt or for those who want tominister to. a hurting world.

Dr. Swindoll is an amazing writer. Easy to relate with stories he shares of real life and how it relates to Job. This is my second book I have read by him and each one is fascinating how he shares the amount of detail in his research, yet makes it relatable to all readers. Highly recommend reading this book to help each one of us be stronger in our faith.

Great book, speedy delivery, condition as described (I bought second hand). Easy to read, this book explains things you always wanted to know about the book of Job. I thoroughly recommend it.

Job is the most controversial book in the bible. Swindoll dissects the life of Job, and Job’s friends, to unravel the inner meaning behind what it means to be tested by God.

The book looked brand new new except for a name written on the. blank sheet next to the cover.I’m thrilled with the condition of the book and would buy from them again!

This is my first review to send to Kindle. I’ve never really felt the need to do this. But especially right now that we are under the coronavirus lockdown, And we are wondering what will happen, Jobs life and the lessons in this book are invaluable! Thank you pastor Swindoll for helping me to grasp the lessons to be learned in the book of Job.
