Why does my unit only show FLOW?

Please blow continuously into the unit for several seconds as if you were whistling. When you hear a clack inside the unit, the test is finished.

Why do I get too low values?

Many people misjudge their level of alcoholisation. Rules of thumb like "2 beers, 0.5 per mille" are wrong. How quickly alcohol is metabolised depends on many different factors.

Why do I get too high values?

Please wait 15 minutes after the last sip of alcohol. Otherwise there will still be alcohol in the mouth, which will strongly distort the values. For this reason, please use a new mouthpiece for each test.

Why do I not get constant values?

Please allow 3 to 4 minutes between tests. Only then will the alcohol have settled back to the bottom of the lungs.

What happens if I do not have the breathalyser calibrated regularly?

The values of all alcohol testers from all manufacturers become less accurate over time ("drift"); regular calibration ensures that the values remain consistently accurate.
