Accurate, Easy to Use, and Super Convenient! I bought this Pocket Radar Smart Coach to measure my son's pitching speed, and it works perfectly! It’s highly accurate, easy to set up, and provides instant speed readings. The compact and portable design makes it super convenient to bring to practice sessions. This radar is spot on! It went tit for tat against the stalker pro, 2mph lower speed reading on pitches below 80mph, 81mph+ it had a 3mph lower reading. The readings were perfectly consistent with the big boy, and it was even able to get accurate readings from more peripheral positioning then the $2000+ model. The size and portability are amazing! It will fit in your pocket! We set ours up on a dewalt laser level tripod with the phone attachment so it can be positioned easily and changed often with no hassle. Has plenty of room for error and is so easy to use my little kids can use it. A tripod is not needed, but it is a great tool if it's just you and your player. A tripod will be necessary if they plan to train alone. Get the coach bundle if you can afford it it's definitely packed full of usefull features that can give you the actual differences in your fast pitches, slow pitches, exit speed, etc. If not the basic gun is on point and well worth the cost if you just want to find out how your player, or players stack up in the speed department. I have not been paid or given any discounts to write this review. Definitely thought others could use the info. Save yourself thousands of dollars on more than just a radar gun, and get this amazing tool. It can and will improve your game in a multitude of ways. Skip a few lessons and pay for this item while it's still priced so low. You will not regret the decision, for us we skipped a new bat this year and paid the same for the package. We haven't had to pay for a lesson since, and every aspect of our players game has improved greatly.

Perfect for pickleball. This thing is absolutely what you would dream of if you were creating a product. First of all it works with pickleball and not all radars do. Secondly you can plug it in so you never wear out the batteries. The fact that I can look back quickly and see when I hit a ball faster and watch myself on a quick 6 second video is so helpful. You can quickly adjust. For example I realized I was hitting the ball too far away from my body. The second I started hitting it closer the ball went from 40 miles an hour to around 44 mph instantly. It's little tweaks like that that make it incredibly effective. Life is short. I would not hesitate to buy this product. To me it's better than private lessons. I can do this when I want and where I want for as long as I want. And you can study the video! Furthermore there is YouTube to see what the stroke should be and you can compare it to yours and basically teach yourself what you need to be doing. Why spend 90 bucks a lesson when you can own this? Absolutely fabulous product. Do not hesitate to purchase it and make sure you get the good one that records video through your phone or tablet

Bought for my son for baseball. Accuracy seems good so far but have nothing to compare it with. It seems around where my son is pitching. It also picks up exit velocity fairly well. There are 2 modes manual and continuous. Continuous eats up fresh batteries in 30 minutes. It has a micro usb port you can plug in an external battery pack. I got one at micro center for 20$ which paid for itself within 1 day. I dont even put batteries in. You should buy an external battery pack or don't bother buying this radar. I tested in continuous mode and it ate up about 1% of the battery pack in 10 minutes so should be good for longer sessions. I 3d printed an enclosure that mounts on a camera tripod and also holds my phone and the battery pack. I can stream the speeds to my phone to give my son instant feedback (they have a 400$ external display you can buy but why would you). They advertise streaming speeds to a smart watch. I think it's just Apple watch as I can't find any solution for android based watches. The phone app can also record video which is a pretty nice feature. Video requires you to use a phone or tablet (no camera on the radar of course) and uses phone memory capacity. The app tracks each pitchs speed and a video in case you want to see the mechanics for slower /faster pitches. Overall nice device but dinging 1 star because the battery sucks badly. Get the external battery and it lasts fine.

The Pocket Radar Smart Coach is by far the best coaching tool I have used for improving slap shots and wrist shots in hockey. The radar is accurate and consistent. It works in -20 weather and can be operated with gloves on. The radar only tracks puck velocity, and tracking is done from behind the shooter, rather than behind the net. The velocity embedded in the video allows the shooter/coach to compare shot speed to technique. As such, small adjusts can be made with instant, quantitative evidence to assess improvement. It is very small and fits easily in a track jacket pocket. Despite the slightly elevated cost, I would recommend this for any hockey coach.

This device has been compared and is accurate. I used this for pitching and it worked perfectly. I recommend this item.
