Mercer Culinary Ultimate White, 8 Inch Offset Bread Knife

This is the 7th or 8th Mercer knife I've bought. First few were from a local commercial kitchen supply place. This bread knife makes quick work of sourdough and delicate work of Japanese milk bread.

This was the best priced, decent looking, offset bread knife I could find. And it delivers.Even at the reasonable price I still consider it a luxury purchase. It's arguably the most specialized knife in my collection that I also arguably use the least. Literally just homemade loaves and the occasional sandwich I want halved. But if you want to not smash your bread or sandwiches, you need a bread knife. But I cannot undersell how convenient the "offset" style is. It's just so much more practical. You get to keep an even lighter pressure through the entirety of your saw. It's a truly underrated style of knife.I like it a lot.

MERCER sure seems to be a good kitchen knife brand . Bought this knife a month ago and now use it almost daily . nice handle angle , very sharp when arrived . VERY MUCH A RECOMMEND !!!

Mercer is really starting to impress me. Every knife I have gotten represents such high quality to price, and this 8" bread knife is no different. It came from the package very sharp, well-made and fitted and ready to go. I make a lot of focaccia bread, and this knife is perfect - Cuts with such ease the crisp crust, zips right through the super soft interior without tearing, or nary leaving any crumbs... It is a joy to use and be able to present bread that is not hacked-up looking, rather as if cut with a razor.I have XXXL hands, so the large, strangely upwardly bent handle is great to give counter clearance while slicing, and the blade is rather flexible - Good or bad I guess depending on your preference. Have not tried it for other foods, but it would seem to make a good vegetable/fruit slicer, perhaps ham, etc. Totally worth $11, and would replace instantly if lost. Buy with confidence, and thank you for reading my review.

Like the offset shape of this knife .great for hands with RA . I have a chopper knife with the same shape which is quite awesome. Its easy on the wrist as well.

I’ve never owned a bread, knife before, and I was amazed at how much better. It works then an ordinary serrated knife. Not only is it easier to cut, but it makes perfect, factory like cuts. The offset handle gives you good control. Very happy with us purchase I think this would make a great gift because most people do not have a bread knife.

This knife is the best bread cutter I’ve ever had. I can cut through a tough crust without smashing the chewy, soft, airy inside of a rustic loaf. I absolutely love it and would totally recommend it. I only use it for bread items so it stay perfectly sharp as well.

We’ve been using this for a few months now and we really love it. Great for bread and softer fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes or strawberries.The offset handle is awesome. It feels like a larger chefs knife in your hand and to me is more comfortable to hold and use. 100% would buy again
