Q: When i do water changes, how much pond prime do i add?

I use 3 to 5 capfuls per approx 600 gallons I pump out or vacuum out aproximately 25 % of my 2400 gal pond I have used it for 6 to 8 years on city water that chloramine where previously would take a quart or other product. I have never had a problem with Pond prime also 2 relatives have been using same time. I do have cypress tree, Lotus, lilies and Irises does not harm them . I hope this helps.

Q: How long do I have to let the water sit after I add the conditioner and before returning the fish to the pond?

Prime is used when adding, filling or changing the water so if maybe your just filling the pond now that the weather is warming up then add the necessary amount per instructions and it is immediate.

Q: Does it work instantly?

Yes, just like any dechlorine for aquariums. I use it when adding new water to my 30 koi pond with the koi in it and works perfectly as indicated.

Q: Is there a water softener for fresh water aquarium?

There are resins that can be added to your filter that can soften the water. The resin can be recharged using salt. Not sure how effective they are. Would be easier to use RO water and add minerals to hit a targeted general hardness and carbonate hardness.
