The Promise of Energy Psychology: Revolutionary Tools for Dramatic Personal Change

WORKS. Had to finagle a few things, but... WORKS for emotional AND physical.
I'm only about 1/4 of the way through but I've already done the procedure and... it worked. The first time, I couldn't find super sore underarm (neurolymph) spots, but tried it anyway. Was unsure if it worked. Used karate chop points. THEN it worked for me.Interesting the memories OR emotions that come up when you go through a round. I'm feeling really, REALLY excited and hopeful.I've already improved relations b/w myself and my significant other, after long years of deep hurt and resentment. I've also already improved extremely, EXTREMELY tight hip joints noticeably in just one session of a few rounds. (I didn't know it helped until later when I noticed distinct mobility improvements AND less pain.)I've already helped my S.O. go through 2 rounds in a session. Intrigued to see how it helps him / what changes for him tomorrow, as he goes about his day. Feeling confident about this and already looked into learning this so I can teach it myself. It would go perfectly with the holistic, preventive wellness work I already do with clients. So grateful for this technique and book.

I bought this book after reading Donna Eden's Energy Medicine book.I'm trained as a scientist and mathematician, so I am naturally skeptical. As a scientist I'm also open to new things and interested in testing them.I'd been having numerous health problems and hadn't found much relief through regular medical routes. While the scientific evidence is still building with regards to energy treatments, I can say that I found the techniques in this book very helpful.I've read many other books on psychology and tried CBT workbooks, and so on.This Energy Psychology book was the first time I found something that seemed to actually work. Is it the placebo effect? Could be, but the fact that it helped despite my skepticism makes this book worth recommending.I thought the parts about PTSD were particularly helpful. Apparently recent scientific studies are showing that Energy Medicine can be helpful for this (comments on other reviews reference and link to such studies)I have trouble forgetting bad things that happen to me and I relive them over and over again, and if they are bad enough they can keep me from sleeping for months. This sounded similar enough to PTSD to me that I figured if this book could help it would be completely worth it.Using the techniques in this book I was able to stop reliving the past and sleep better at night. I don't know why the things in this book work, but I'm grateful for them. I highly recommend the book for anyone struggling with emotional difficulties. It's a lot cheaper than going to therapy and even if it does not work for you, you won't have spent much. You can also find similar information on Emotional Freedom Technique websites across the web, but I strongly recommend the book because of it's depth of information and the reliability of the source. I'd tried EFT before and hadn't had any luck with it - it took reading this book to get results.I hope there will be more studies on these techniques. They're simple, cheap, fast, and in my experience, effective.

...and I thought the high standard setup by Energy Medicine book would be hard to match
Techniques included in this book changed my life for much better (and if you wonder why so shortly after the book was published, it is because some of them I have known for a longer time, from Energy Medicine (EM) book by same authors, and from other sources). What I like so much are the pictures included with every technique, that will help graps the "how to" much better than a mere textual description. Invaluable. Technically, the only thing that I miss is the index at the end of the book - it was in the EM book and it has proven to be very valuable there. The basic differences from the EM book by same authors, as I could grasp quickly: EFT (emotional freedom techniques) from Gary Craig included, pictures for each exercise (there were many pictures in EM book too, but sometimes I was confused as for the details of certain exercises, these are now thankfully included in this book), research evidence, joy circuits covered in detail (you owe them to yourself and your body!). EM book was more about energies while this one is more about personal change applications, though there is a wide intersection for sure.Scientific validations included will definitely be important for some people. I personally don't care for it too much - my validation as with everything is whether it WORKED FOR ME after I have used it - in that respect saying I'm SATISFIED is an understatement. There are books by authors that are good at writing. Others are experts in their field. Some others are just inventors but lack when it comes to spreading their message. Donna Eden, David Feinstein and Gary Craig are rare authors in respect of a unique trinity of skills: being gifted as teachers (authors and spreaders of the message), inventors and experts (and doers) all together.Pure diamond.

filled with practical information but you must read through too ...
filled with practical information but you must read through too many narrative examples of other people. not interested in other people's stories or progress, and an author does "not" need to include any of them. it takes up space and only fills in the word count.
