Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heat-Cold Large Sleeve for Knee, Foot and Ankle

First, let me state that I did not (or intend to) use the product as a cold sleeve. Thus, the review pertains only to the sleeve as a heat device.The points raised in many lower rating reviews should be considered. The sleeves are heavy, will not stay on your leg as you walk and the distribution of the grain inside is not perfect (it is not set steady in place). Thus, as you purchase the item you have to keep these points in mind. However, I was prepared for it and I was not disappointed with the outcome.Several years ago, I bought several microwaveable products but after using them only for a few months I moved to electric devices. Only a year or so ago I attempted to revisit these devices. Only Thermalon was usable! All other ones were completely solid with no use for any applications. Well, this is why I keep buying thermalon and avoid new tries of other products. I bought a few different ones for different purpose and I am pretty happy with them as used. One thing I’m surprised is how long they can retain heat. (This being said I don’t have much to compare to given the fact that this is the only microwavable heat product I’ve been buying.) The heat is much more profound inside of the sleeve than outside allowing you to heat it very high: you can use it by applying the external part at first and as it cools to put your leg/hand inside. This approach could further extend the time that you effectively use the sleeve after removing from microwave.NOTE for the producer: employing techniques used in your Pad for Abdomen, Back and Hip, 9" x 12", which limit movability of the grain inside could make the product even more desirable even if priced higher then the current $16.99 price.

I have used this for many years. From using them so often, the beads finally got smaller and smaller, but they still work. Got the new one as a back up because I wasn't sure if they were still available after all this time. I was very happy to find them. Everyone in the house uses them. I've never tried them cold, but I'm sure that would work just as well.

I'm a woman and the large is hard to get on and off my knee.. Too tight. Will use for other sore joints

Thermalon products tend to be pricy, but they function so well and last so long, IMO, they are worth every penny. These ice "sleeves" don't hold the cold quite as long as similar products with 'blue ice' style coolant (Thermalon uses some kind of beads), but they're made of a comfortable knit fabric that stretches, as needed, in order to slip onto your wrist or elbow (they make two sizes). For a serious, long-term issue, consider getting two: one will always be cold when you want it. Note: the design has two drawbacks: they are heavy, which can create issues if you have a sore wrist or elbow that doesn't want to bear any weight, and the beads have a tendency to pool on one side, which can make the product a little less flexible and tricky to slide into if your joint is acutely tender. Worth the trouble, though, in that they are so uniquely able to contour to your body.

seam failed on one of a pair, that i'd used about 4 times. feels really good and promotes healing, from too much bowling (if there can be such). but the little white pills all over the floor are a big aggravation. once again, performing quality control for the manufacturer, at the expense of my time.

It fits very tightly on my skinny old-man knee. No way it would work for someone with a little more meat on their bones.

Needed something to use on my Knee,when I get pain in it now and then.Heats fast in the Microwave,and stays cold for a long time when placed in the freezer. Price was excellent,and "Amazon" was the best place to buy it.

So happy to find this brand on Amazon! Their products are fantastic and I could no longer find them at the store. This is a large knee sleeve if you will, but I use it to warm both of my hands at once, like a muff. I suffer from Raynaud’s and am a typist, so this warms up my cold fingers quick. It’s moist heat, which is far superb to regular microwaveable warmers. I love this brand so much, I also bought one for my neck and one for sinus pressure. 5 stars!
