My dad has been selling old jeans on eBay and needed some fabric measuring tape (the grandkids kept playing with his old ones). I thought this one looked manly and worked well. It is leather like the color is nice. Is accurate, flexible, and durable. Great value. Would also be good for body measurements. Nice and compact.

Don't bother. It's not even worth the small price. It did not retract. I had to push the tape back in but even then, the last few inches would not go in.I have completely revised my review. I tried everything to get it to retract and worked on it over a day. Then my husband came by and said, "You just have to squeeze the sides". I did this and, voila, it quickly and completely retracted.It would be helpful if the maker would put some"press here to retract " symbols on the case and include directions.It is a cute item and will easily fit into my purse

This is a really nice and convenient little tape measure. Small enough to keep in your pocket or purse.

It's a nice little tape, great for carrying in my purse.The quality is good, & I'd have given it 5 stars....if the (leather?) cover had not been put on backwards!There's a small circle in the center that you are supposed to press, to get the tape to rewind itself.Unfortunately, the whole cover is on backwards, as pressing the circle accomplishes nada, while I must press on the center of the side where the cover has no circle.Hmmm.Maybe it's a Monday tape? Rough weekend? Someone asleep at their job? Too big a hurry? Got to meet a quota?Who knows. Anyway, it works.Whether it's worth the price I paid is another story. I'd send it back, but too much trouble.

The leather is nice, all works the o ky challenge is it doest always stay in a locked position if needed

EDC = Every Day Carry. Yep, I'm that old Boomer who likes to carry all sorts of "necessaries" in my cargo pants pockets (don't tell me cargoes are out of style; it has nothing to do with style - LOL). And a tailor's tape comes in very handy at times. Ya' just never know when you're going to need to measure something.I've been using a retractable one for years. But the leather cover on this one really elevates it. And it's so light you won't even notice it's there until you need it... and, of course, it'd be good for your sewing basket too.It may just be the same as the cheap plastic ones under the leather cover, but with it it's good looking and feels like good quality.I got one for my daughter, who is a realtor, as a stocking stuffer too. She was skeptical about keeping it in her purse at first, until she had a client start asking how wide the doors were and how deep the counters were at a condo she was showing them. Thanks to dear-old-Dad she was able to whip out her tape and tell them on the spot. Now she won't go to a showing without it.
