Well Written
I am an Architect studying for the licensing exam. I purchased this book for additional study material. Even though it is written for electrical engineers/electricians, because it is so well written, I was able to understand the principles taught.

Valuable Resource
It seems difficult to find a good general guide for electrical engineering pertaining to commercial buildings. This book manages to cover the essentials, adds in some experience related data and some of the theory behind the concepts. It does not provide the type of information contained within books such as the American Electrician's Handbook (also recommended), but is valuable nonetheless.

Three Stars
Just started to read the book and here what I found P=V2/R not P=V2xR

This book requires editorial review.
This book needs to go back through editorial review. Many figures are mis-labeled and out of sequence. Most of the details and drawings are so small that you cannot read them even with a magnifying glass. The general content is practical and useable. I'd give the content a "B+", but the presentation and delivery a "D-".

Exactly what I was looking for
This is a WONDERFUL book. It has the perfect balance between theory (e.g. explanation of power factor and voltage drop) and practical application (the manhours per type of work is a gold mine). There are many electrical books out there with a cookbook approach showing installations, testing methods, etc. The problem with those books is they tend to be overly long and it is hard for me to look up a solution for a problem that I encountered. Often times, these books contain solutions so specific that I have no hope of ever needing such information. Not so with this book. It gives a general theories explained in clear and practical terms. I may never need to know some ideas in the sense that they affect parts of the electrical system I have no influence over (ie stuff the EE designer determines) but they are good to know.If you want to know the why of electrical work and not just the how, this book is for you!I hope the author writes a second edition and expands on other theoretical aspects of the book (e.g. why is delta connected better for short distances vs Wye?) as well as practical (more details on the drawings).

Few errors, but very helpful book
I really like this book. There are a lot of useful details on different issues; plain English and logical sequence in explanation of modern design of Electrical Systems for Buildings. Very good Chapters on Estimating, Value Engineering and HVAC equipment. There are some mistakes, but they are minor.
