Very helpful
Includes videos and extra assessments too. Very helpful in summarizing what I need to focus on.

Worth it!
Scored a 95- from what I’ve heard passing is usually in the 70’s- highest I’ve heard it 85. First try at CPCE with only really studying for about a week. Most valuable aspect is the two practice exams which not only highlight areas of weakness, but provide detailed explanations and improved my test taking time- it took me about two hours to complete the 160 question cpce. Worth the $ and not completely overwhelming like “the encyclopedia of counseling”

Fun night reading with my child
After finishing a book on quantum mechanics my child and I chose to reach for something more abstract. This book has him glued to the content. We couldn’t use it for bedtime stories anymore because he was so intrigued.

Great study guides that aren't overwhelming
I passed the Praxis test well above the passing score on the first try, and spent one full day studying the day before the test, using Mometrix materials. I passed the CPCE exam after using this book to study for that test as well. Its condensed format makes studying this book feel actually doable, as opposed to some of the other study guides that feel so overwhelming. These study guides are broken down into need-to-know information, without the extra fluff. Great study guides in a usable format.

Very accessible!
This study guide is very accessible and includes links to helpful videos summarizing certain sections. This is something to have in your collection if you are studying for the CPCE exam!

Unfortunately it didn't help
The exam was nothing like this book. The information provided was good but irrelevant to the exam.

Study guide needs editing
I will be taking the counseling comprehensive exam next weekend. I purchased this study guide because many of my classmates had purchased the same book (monkey see, monkey do kind of thing). While the study guide touches on most of the key topics discussed throughout the master's program, it does not go in depth. I find myself checking back to my notes, handouts and textbooks, as I should be. The book claims to have been written by counseling experts. There are many, many spelling errors and grammatical mistakes throughout the whole study guide. It got the point where it was rather comical. A month after comps, I will be taking the NCE. I will go with Rosenthal's NCE Encyclopedia for review as opposed to this study guide. I believe $40 is a bit pricey for what you get.
