Before purchasing this sling I researched it well, found great reviews and confirmed that Pura Vida complies with the CPSIA and ASTM standards. The fabric has been tested for strength and also for low flammability and the unwelded rings have been tested to be lead free and have been weight tested as well. Pura Vida has a Children’s Product Certificate showing their compliance that has been approved by the CPSC. Safety is very important to me and I was satisfied with Pura Vidas compliance with all standards. My baby and I love the slings comfort and support. The fabric is so soft and smooth without even wearing to break it in. The fabric is breathable and is perfect for hot days (may baby runs warm always sweating). The versatile fabric is also perfect for cold weather, by baby keeps warm with the fabric and my body temperature. I purchased this sling when my baby was 2 months old, she is now 4 months. Since purchasing the sling I used it just about everyday. This was the perfect solution for bonding using skin to skin contact in her early newborn stage and loved how silky the fabric would lay on her supple newborn skin. I would twist the tail end for that extra support on her newborn neck. Even now she falls straight to sleep when I'm baby wearing. I just fell in love with this sling. Everywhere I would go people would comment on how stylish and beautiful the sling was. I just had to rave about it to family and even complete strangers. I even made a new mommy friend while shopping she adored my sling and I gave her all the details even helped her search for it on Amazon. People thought that I worked for Pura Vida! I was like I wish!!!! I love this sling so much! I'm just a mommy that was so impressed with the quality and pricing of this sling. I love the business owners story/bio on the Pura Vida website. I even tend to share her story! If you love to support small family businesses here it is! Most importantly I'd like to share a story on a more personal level, a few weeks ago my car was vandalized.On 4/2/2018 I took my son to his music lesson in Chino California and my car was vandalized. My passenger side door window was shattered to pieces and my diaper bag and sons toddler bag was stolen. Inside my diaper bag was my beloved Pura Vida Ring Sling. My wallet was stolen as well because it was inside of my ring sling so I spent hours at the DMV getting a new license the following day and canceling all my credit cards and debit cards I wasn’t concerned about that because the Credit Card companies replace the cards and refund the money. The criminals charged over $2,300.00. Between my sons toddler bag and my diaper bag I lost about $1,000.00 in toddler and baby items as well as my personal items.This was the worst invasion of privacy of ever. I really couldn't afford to purchase a new ring sling and was hoping Pura Vida would be able to offer some type a coupon or discount to buy another sling.With the loss I had taken and having to replenish everything that was already in my diaper bag and toddler bag it was a big burden. Including having to buy a new drivers license and paying the deductible for my car insurance to fix my car window. I was really hurt and sad that my sling was stolen, My most prized possessions I loved so much. I sent Pura Vida an email sharing my story in hopes of a coupon. To my surprise the owner of Pura Vida Ring Sling, Anne Ferris emailed me back herself. She offered to send me a new sling free of charge in hopes to help a fellow mommy out and put a smile on my face. As I read her email it brough tears to my eyes,I could not believe it. My heart was warm and overjoyed! I can't thank Anne and Pura Vida enough for the love and support they showed me. Now I can continue to bond and be close to my baby. I'm definatly going to purchase any future Item from Pura Vida! I will contunue to share my story with others and want people to know how great this product is as well as how much Pura Vida cares about their customers. So happy I found these beautiful slings! I have owned a sling in the past with my first child, but the sling I had then had a wooden ring, which made adjusting the material difficult, since it wasn't slick, and the material was not soft at all. I knew I wanted a ring sling this second time around, because I needed something that I could nurse my newborn in. The baby carrier I also have isn't for use until your child reaches 4 months old or more, and that simply wasn't going to work, since I need to be hands-free as early as possible, especially with a toddler now! Not to mention, babywearing promotes a feeling of comfort and safety in newborns that is so valuable, as I'm sure anyone reading this is well aware of. I currently live in Florida, so I knew I wanted a sling that was breathable and wasn't going to make me super hot. I did some research and found that linen is a really breathable material, in addition to being incredibly strong and long-lasting, and there are actually some companies that make all linen slings, but the problem with linen is that it is so stiff and not very soft to the touch. Then, my chance, I happened to magically find Pura Vida slings here on Amazon and was so thankful I did! Pura Vida combines linen with bamboo, and bamboo is SO incredibly soft (my favorite material for baby clothing actually because of this fact), eco-friendly, and resist wrinkling better than cotton. After reading all these fabulous reviews for the Pura Vida slings, I knew this was the one for me! After ordering, my sling arrived right away, and I tested it out on my 2.5-year-old son. He actually really loved being held in the sling and wanted me to carry him around for awhile! Threading the sling was simple and made all the easier with the video tutorial on YouTube that the owner so nicely made. Her video tutorials are super helpful in getting you comfortable with how to babywear properly with slings! She also is so very kind and easy to talk to! After sharing a photo of my new sling on Instagram, she reached out and thanked me for my purchase and made herself available if I had ant questions! Talk about wonderful customer service! Something else I enjoyed about the black sling I got is that it is suitable for both moms and dads to wear, and it goes well with both casual or formal clothing. I can't say enough about how great this sling and company are! Thank you for making these!

Baby loves it. Becomes easy to sat up after a little practice. Quick to put on. More comfortable on back and shoulders than traditional carrier. Mostly hands free. Nice thick material.

I read most of the Amazon reviews for Pura Vida slings before purchasing, so I had some idea of the quality craftsmanship that goes into these slings, as well as the ethics and communication practiced by the company. I was pleasantly surprised when my expectations were met and even exceeded. I will start by reviewing the fabric used by Pura Vida, I purchased the Pink Sunset sling and came back a few days later for the Seashell, they are that addictively soft! I've owned a few ring slings over the last 16 years, but none of them came close to the comfort and structure offered by Pura Vida. Anne even made sure there is a seam along the shoulder to help with getting the perfect fit (don't pay attention to how it slipped a bit in my 1st picture, we had just used the restroom--yes, squatting & wearing a ring sling is very do-able--and my baby was squirmy, I hadn't yet readjusted), the fabric glides smoothly through the (very pretty rose gold) rings, also the fabric is soft yet structured enough that it won't start to bag-out for I-don't-know-how-long, as I've worn mine for over an hour of vigorous walking with no slippage or drooping. We didn't break a sweat during our day out and about at the zoo, and my baby enjoys her slings so much that I've been using them to hold her while I cook dinner (even when extra hands are available), she literally makes happy sounds when I pull out Sunset Pink. The material is thick but not heavy, smooth but not slippery. I might update my review once I've worn them during the scorching summer months, so far so good! As far as structure goes, I already mentioned the shoulder seam, the pocket comes in handy for carrying a phone (I have an older iphone with a bulky case & it fit fine), the tail of the sling is long enough for winding up into the top rail that goes behind baby's head, for extra support. My daughter likes to lean her head back and look up at the trees as we walk, I feel that the sling holds her securely while she's doing that. There is plenty of material for making a deep seat for my baby, she's about 20lbs. Color, my favorite part. These colors are gorgeous! I can see how easy it would be to end up with 4 or 5 Pura Vida slings. The two pink colorways that I purchased are completely different shades, and the vibe of each one is also very different. My third photo shows a comparison of these colors (indoors, daylight). I believe that the tail on Sunset is longer than on Seashell, but they are equally functional and beautiful. If you read through the reviews (here and on Instagram) you will see how Pura Vida sling wearers are devoted to this brand, not only because of the superior product, but because of the care and interaction provided by Anne and her company. Like another reviewer, I was replacing a stolen sling (of a different brand), and came upon Pura Vida, maybe that theft was a blessing in disguise...I had no idea what I was missing as far as comfort and style. I do own two other types of carriers (Babylonia and Sakura Bloom), but Pura Vida will be the only linen ring slings that I buy. I love that they add a bit of bamboo to the mix for some extra coziness, for this price I don't think you can find anything remotely comparable. I’ve completely broken this sling in, and worn it enough times to give an honest review. That being said, I am unfortunately less than thrilled with it. There are some good things though, and I’ll start with that. The fabric is super soft and so comfortable against my skin and baby’s. Also, the pocket is essential and the best thing I didn’t know I needed. Now for the parts that I don’t love. The sling is so soft, that I find that the fabric slips A LOT more than my other slings. The worst part about this is that my daughter is only 6 weeks old and just hit 10lbs today, so I can only imagine that this will get worse as she gains weight. I am constantly adjusting her in the sling, and it’s annoying and I find myself reaching for this sling less and less. Also, I’ve noticed wear on the rings already. At this price point, having bought it maybe a month ago? I would expect the rings so still look new, but the finish on them is starting to wear off and I don’t even want to know how bad they’ll look in one month, two months, etc. Overall, it’s a decent sling. But for the money, I’d have expected better so I am a bit disappointed.

I tried so many wraps for my baby’s big thighs, and this one was comfortable for both of us! This is my favorite baby purchase so far. My baby likes to be able to see what is going on, and has big thighs; this combination is apparently a horrible one if you want to baby wear. We tried the happy fabric wrap, it couldn’t be front facing, and was really a challenge to try and perfectly guess how tight to make it before putting baby in. Then we tried the infantino carrier. Front and inward facing so that was great, but my poor baby’s legs turned purple and had deep lines no matter how many ways and times I tried it! Definitely a no go. Then we went to BuyBuyBaby to try wraps/carriers. We tried two different ergobaby and one boppy carrier and they were more of the same; purple legs, deep red lines, unhappy baby! On pure faith I ordered this ring sling. It came in and it was soft, sturdy, and in my favorite color! The fabric is breathable and high quality(we live in a hot climate). It took me a few tries to get the lacing right, but after that I just left it in and now I can put it on so quickly and easily with barely any adjusting. I can carry my baby on my hip as well as facing my chest when she wants to sleep. Awesome product, and I have to say the “tail”(extra fabric at the end with pocket) really comes in handy for sunny days and a place to easily have my phone.

We love this sling. It is very easy to use, it is comfortable and not harsh on your back. My daughter has been very comfortable in this since just 3 days after birth. She takes the majority of her naps in this sling. It comes everywhere with us and has saved us from fussiness plenty of times. Material is light and breathe able in the summer. The pocket is a huge bonus too. It can fit a phone, water bottle and key fob easily. You can also lower baby to breast fed and use the extra length as a cover! I would love to have two, we use it so often it’s hard to find time to throw it in the washer lol 10/10 recommend

When I couldn’t find the cotton ring sling I had used with all my other kids, I ordered this one. When it eventually turned up, I was amazed at how much more luxurious this one was. The fabric is really nice to feel and comfortable even in heat. For me, a ring sling is for the first three months and my babies take a lot of naps in it. It’s great because it can cover their face with the tail for private or to stop sun and they love to be in the froggy newborn pose snuggled up like they were in the womb. It takes more on-the-go adjustment than other carriers, but that’s an advantage because it’s so simple to nurse and pull them in or out quickly, or get them in the carrier once they’re asleep (although they usually prefer to fall asleep walking around in it). I also spilled a terrible amount of dinners on it and it washes up great, laid out to dry overnight. I would definitely buy again or recommend. Ring slings are easy to use once you get the knack and babies feel so secure. I also have a newborn ergo which is better for long walks/hiking and she didn’t love having her legs out plus I had to use this sling to cover her face.
