The Gingerbread Man Padded Hardcover Christmas Storybook Hardcover – September 17, 2018

My daughter actually let me read the story TWICE. She LOVES books but doesn't have the patience to wait through a whole story most nights (she's 2) but this book (as well as Hansel and Gretel) captured her attention the whole way through. She loved the colorful pictures and the story brought back memories of when I was little so it was great to have that nostalgic moment with her. The book has a puffy hardcover and the pages inside are glossy paper. I plan on buying more of these stories to complete the set I remember growing up with. Good size too. My daughter will sit in my lap or lay her head on my shoulder if we're in bed and will often times ask me to read the story twice in a row. The big pages and size of the book helps keep her attention because there's always something interesting to look at. Definitely a favorite in my house.This was always one of my favorite stories growing up. "Run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!" It's a fun rhyme that I like to say in a way that builds suspense throughout the book. It's almost like a song too. My daughter gets all excited with the way I tell the story. But the funny thing is that I used to laugh at the ending because the cookie gets what's coming to him and gets eaten at the end. My daughter however gets all upset saying, "Uh oh! He ate him! He ate the cookie! We have to help him! Save him mommy!" She's just pretending but it's so adorable to see her act so serious about it! Such a character :)

Hardcover book with beautiful illustrations of this classic story. I purchased it to read to my Grandchildren.

Great quality!I had already purchased the gingerbread toy for my great-granddaughter and will add a gingerbread man cookie cutter and recipe as a gift.This will make it easy to explain that he is a cookie, and that is why everyone wants to eat him. Also baking and eating the cookies together will add to the memorable fun.
