Husky household certified!!
Own two huskies. This this picks up their fur like nothing else! The small canister is kind of a pain to empty but in a 2 bedroom townhouse this thing works great! First time using it and it didnt over heat or anything! The modes are amazing. I basically used the floor one for the carpets because its the most powerful! Super lightweight and easy to use. Cord reaches from the bottom of the stairs (14 steps) to the top no problem. 100% husky certified! Great vacuum that was on sale for a good price! Even full price this thing is worth it!

Performs as advertised!
I purchased this canister vac specifically for the light weight, ease of use with tools attached and cord rewind and I have not been disappointed. I am also very pleased with the adjustable suction power and the length of the cord and the hose. I have somewhat limited use of mobility and dexterity and this makes it much less painful to keep up with my cleaning!

PLEASE MAKE POWER CORD MUCH LONGER!
I am the ultimate vacuum snob. I am canister person too. This vacuum has wonderful suction. The carpet/beater attachment works great. The size & weight are perfect. BUT the power-cord is so short. It barely reaches 1-room from end to end. Just when you get 'on a roll' vacuuming, you've gotta go unplug and replug. Frustrating! Returning. My Shark canister has a cord twice as long. But Shark isn't making the vac I love/use any longer, so I thought I'd give this one a go. Great job Eureka, BUT the cord issue is big for me.-Regina

Great for hardwoods
This is my second one. First lasted 2+ years and then a plastic latch broke. But, at this price that's fine, and this is the best vacuum I've ever had to get in the seams of hardwood planks. We have a lot of sand from outdoors, and a lot of tracked kitty litter indoors, and this little machine grabs it all. I use a brush attachment to get between planks. Not great on rugs/carpet, but a great deal on hardwoods. Easy to maneuver and carry.

Great vacuum
Very strong suction power. I thought i purchased the one with a motorized head, but that was my fault for not double checking. Even without it though, it works on carpet very well. Doesn’t make a lot of noise and its dust collection bin is large enough to where I don’t need to empty it until I finish the whole house. Seems to be very durable and built well, no broken or loose parts. It’s also very lightweight so picking it up and carrying it around isn’t a hassle.

Great vacuum. Worth the price.
This vacuum has been great. I keep it upstairs where the bedrooms and laundry room is. Its great for getting under the beds. And the curtain attachment works great. I love that its bagless and I can just empty canister in garbage outside. Definitely picks up dust well. Highly recommend.

Decent bagless canister for around $100
I needed a vacuum while staying at a friend’s smaller 2-bedroom house for a couple weeks. They have 2 cats and their cordless was on its last legs. I needed something small and inexpensive, with a reasonably large dust bin and enough power to get cat fur out of the thick pile rug while also working well for surfaces. A battery powered model was not going to have the oomph at the price point I was looking for, and an upright wasn't going to make much sense for cleaning surfaces and hard floors, so I settled on a canister model.Occasionally I see Miele C1’s for as low as $275-300, and if that was available when I was looking, it would have been my first choice. It's more than double the cost of this Eureka, but the convenience of a bagged model with excellent suction combined with a proven longevity it would have been a worthy splurge. But there wasn't one available anywhere near that price on short notice, so I went looking at performance reviews against what was available either nearby or with Prime delivery and I landed on this model.I knew I wasn't going to get a powered floor brush for the rug, but I was hoping that the extra power would make up for it. I had higher hopes for the suction-driven brush attachment (I always call these "power paws") since I have had good luck with them from other manufacturers in the past (Dyson, Miele). And otherwise I was just hoping it had reasonable airflow and suction. What it does well:- The team at Eureka clearly studied the competition. The automatic cord rewinder, adjustable suction, top-mounted controls, and stand mode were all clearly inspired by well established canister vacuums like the Miele line; they all worked well.- The cord rewind lever has you hold it down while the cord rewinds, which I prefer to the automatic version on the Miele if only because it provides a bit more control and guards against accidental retraction- I appreciated that the rewind lever flips up into a handle to make it easy to carry- The suction was reasonable out of the box, and the vacuum was moderately quiet even at full power- The dust bin is quite reasonably sized for such a small unit; larger would be more convenient, but not at the cost of making the machine larger. What it does not do so well:- Emptying the bin is messy, like with most bagless models. The pre-filter is not secured to the dust bin well, so it frequently falls off when dumping the contents of the dust bin.- The power paw (suction-driven brush attachment) is terrible. They mimic the mechanics of the Miele one so I don't know what went wrong, but it seizes up easily. Hair and fur were easily trapped around the various shafts and against bearings, causing friction. It does come apart for cleaning quite easily (tool free), but I spent more time cleaning the attachment out than I did using it.- The vacuum lacks the suction to clean even firm woven rugs and mats without a powered brush. It's unfortunate they didn't include one with this model because it would have made all the difference.- The cord was surprisingly short, especially if you follow the manufacturers direction not to pull it out further than the yellow marking—in practice I could only get roughly 12' from where I was plugged in when accounting for slack to avoid yanking it out of the wall.Who is this good for?If you're looking for a small, reasonably quiet vacuum for hard floors and surfaces that is easy to carry and affordable, I do think this is worth considering. If you have a lot of upholstered surfaces or carpets, large rooms, or want something more allergy-friendly, though, I don't think you'll be happy with this model.

Good suction, awkward to carry around
Corded canister with lots of suction. So much better than any of those cordless vacuums I’ve been using for 20 years.Easy to empty. Cord retracts easy.Attachments are useful and easy to use.Two things I don’t like; this was mentioned on other reviews, but I ignored it, unfortunately: great suction on your bare floors, your tile, your wood, your laminate. However, if you have a little area rug or a gigantic area rug, trying to adjust the suction just doesn’t work. The vacuum sucks it up or doesn’t glide. The second thing I didn’t like is just a personal observation. This canister vacuum with the hose is awkward. Dragging this long wand thing around from room to room , pulling the hose trying to get it to sit in a corner is nuts. I don’t think one should have to completely disassemble the unit just to take it from room to room.
