We have been Travelrest customers since we purchased our first pillows back in 2009. Now that we have kids, we have purchased Travelrest pillows for them as well. We use them for long car rides & plane trips and find them to be much easier to manage and more comfortable than the usual half-circle type travel pillows that go behind your neck.This year we decided to add the covers so that we can keep our pillows protected and clean. The added bonus being that we can remove and wash the covers after trips. While the pillows are made of a soft velour-like material they can still feel a little bit rough. The covers are made of a much softer & more velvety material and include memory foam inserts that add an extra layer of comfort. Because you can adjust the pillow inflation to your personal liking, the pillow & cover combo is easy to customize to whoever is using it. I find that inflating the pillow all the way and then backing off a little is the best way to get the pillow adjusted to where you like it. And the new pillow valves are especially easy to inflate/empty/re-inflate as needed.I will say that figuring out how to insert the newer valve into the dark blue cover was a bit tricky, so I contacted the company and they were very responsive & helped me figure out what I was missing. The key is that you have to FULLY remove the valve lid from the valve when you are putting the pillow case on (see the photo above). This part wasn’t intuitive to me, and I didn’t want to break something, but after talking with one of the company’s owners I was able to sort it out and get all of our pillows set up.The blue covers fit the new pillows & valves perfectly, but our old pillow pre-dates the covers so even though we purchased a gray one for that pillow (which had a round cord), the fit still isn’t perfect. However, it still works well enough to use on our trip, which is all we need. We are all very happy with our Travelrest pillows & covers and highly recommend them both. We find them to be superior to any other travel pillows we have tried in the past and they are very easy to use.

Ordered this to actually "change the color" of my current Travelrest pillow, which is a horrid brick red color. I prefer the grey color, and this was cheaper than buying a whole new Travelrest pillow. Yes, I am one of those people who are influenced greatly by color. The grey color of the Travelrest cover is just perfect. Its a nice deep grey, very calming and serene.The unexpectedness was how much I really like the cover, beyond just the color. Normally I am not a memory foam fan, but I think the two inserts really add to the already top-notch comfort of the Travelrest pillow. The velour fabric is super soft, very velvety, but still has enough texture to help your head stay in place on the pillow. It just looks plush and cuddly, and feels that way too. It was really easy to insert the pillow into the case, although I did get some strange looks from fellow plane passengers while doing so. The case adds a bit of bulk, so it does not roll up as small as it would without the cover, but it folds up small enough that I was able to stash it in my carry-on's exterior pockets with no problem. The cover doesn't get in the way of blowing up or deflating the pillow. I got about 3-4 hours of straight sleep with this on an airplane, which let me get to my destination refreshed. The original Travelrest pillow is amazing, I think everyone in my family has one. This cover is just the cherry on top of an already great product. If you are looking for just a tad bit more cushion and softness, this will give it to you. I also like that the cover is washable. Goodbye five million germs from the airplane and travel areas!Overall so so happy that I got this cover. No more ugly red pillow! Now I have a lush, plush, serene air travel pillow that is (or should be) the envy of any fellow traveler!

I didn't find it exceptionally great like most of the other reviewers. I bought it for the sole purpose of keeping the travel pillow clean and it does do that. I like to use the pillow without the memory foam inserts because I feel they make the sides stiff and uncomfortable, but that is individual preference, I guess.The cover itself is very nice and soft and fits the pillow like a glove. I saw a Youtube video on how to put it on the pillow and followed it without a problem. You will need to deflate the pillow completely first and then put it on the pillow. The "tail" of the pillow needs to be folded a bit in order to put in in the cover and to get access to the valve. Then just zip it up and inflate it as you would normally, without the cover.The pillow, itself is just perfect for me, and if I could sew a cover for it, I would do that, but I am no seamstress. This is a little too pricey for just a cover.
