The spacey psychedelic sound of The Lemon Fog never sounded better with all their singles, previously unreleased outtakes, and complete version of Summer, all from the original master tapes. Hailing from Houston, Texas, The Lemon Fog blew many minds during 1967-68, quickly becoming a popular draw at the local Houston hot spot, 'The Living Eye'. Their first single Theme For The Living Eye (changed to 'Lemon Fog' upon release) was a psych-pop flower power masterpiece released in the winter of 1967. The b-side Echoes of Time was nothing short of brilliant, reminiscent of the British psych scene. In June, 1968, the second Lemon Fog single, Summer, was released and remains the signature track of the band with its moody and introspective sound, unusual for a summer themed song. Summer should have been a number one hit. The Lemon Fog's third and final single, The Prisoner and Day By Day was released in November 1968, but also failed to chart. 16 track compilation also features alternate and unreleased versions.

Great Psyche Album
Great lesser known 60s psyche group.

Bright moodiness drifting
When you hear something this good & this enjoyable, you have to wonder why the Lemon Fog didn't go on to better things, while sometimes less-deserving bands did. Yes, this is a compilation of singles & variants of those singles, not really a cohesive album … but they already have their own sound & approach, one that promised even more. Still, if this is all we ever of the Lemon Fog, I'm glad we've got it. It's an almost reflective, mellow psychedelic sound, not so much tripping wildly as melting into a soothing electric bliss ... very nice indeed! Definitely recommended for anyone who treasures The Real Stuff from that wonderfully creative era.

Not All That Psychedelic, Really
This is a neat little slice of sixties obscura but not really all that "psychedelic," yet enjoyable. The most interesting aspect of The Lemon Fog is that they were teenage high school kids with a rather sophisticated take on pop music for their ages. These are enjoyable songs, mostly, but not exactly the trip-out psych-pop one might expect from a band with this name. A good buy for those like myself interested in sixties peripheral pop music -- there's a lot of it out there, much of it pretty far out stuff, but these guys are pretty tame. Tame, though, not lame.

The title says it all.
Everything known to exist put out on one CD by The Lemon Fog. Another great TX band. Released on Cicadelic Records that licensed most of the best Collectable Records releases.
