Stainless Steel Apple Slicer and Corer - FEITA 12 Blades Food Grade 304 Extra Large Heavy Duty Apple Cutter Divider up to 4 Inch Apples

Do your homework! Their is more to a slicer than the blades!
The grade of stainless is supposed to be more resistant to rust. Only time will tell if that hrade was actually used. My previous slicer developed rust after a few years. By design these are not easy to clean by hand but a dishwasher should help. The blades are what is the food grade stainless, mounted in a cheap frame. After 2.5 months of use, about 20 apples, the handle cracked and a paint particle flaked off and stuck to my apple. Only luck I saw it before eating. The Amazon return perios ends 30 days after receipt so it buy this, plan on coring 40 apples within 25 days to test and still be able to return in the window. I will keep using as blades are fine, until handle breaks all the way through.

Blades pulled out of retainer ring
Product is not sturdy and has a serious design/material flaw. Upon pressing into a firm fruit (pictured) the blades and central ring deformed enough to allow the blade tabs to pull out of the outer retaining ring. These tabs are only sandwiched top and bottom, but otherwise are not mechanically secured within the ring. Upon inspection, the blades are rather flexible and not as ridged as required for general use. I do not recommend this product, and would be wary of other all metal products that have similar designs.

Thought I wanted it, but I was wrong!
Don't get me wrong. This is a sturdy, well-built utensil. The problem is that it destroys apples. By trying for 12 slices, the individual slices are so thin that they inevitably fall apart at the bottom of the apple, resulting in a dozen partial slices and another dozen or so bits. I reverted to my 8-slice cutter, and I'm just keeping this one in case I get a wild hair moment and want to tear some apples up.

Exactly the Right Tool
When I first unwrapped this, I thought it was going to be too big and clunky. But it works exactly right on apples and pears! With just a little care to line it up on the fruit, it's easy as can be to get either an apple or pear cored and sliced.

Great while it lasted
Used it for about 6 months before one section of the blades detached from the circular body. Had to throw it away.

Feit apple corer
This apple corer was delivered February 25th of this year. I expected this item to really be great for apples. However, after coring less than 10 apples, two of the blades severed completely from the center circle. It is now absolutely useless.

Hard to slice
I like the idea of getting more slices per apple, but its harder to press through the apple. It needs to be a little sharper.

Robust apple corer especially suitable for large apples.
Robust apple corer especially suitable for large apples. It is heavier than other corers & cuts out a slightly larger core. With 12 blades, it cuts into narrower segments, which is a good thing. So 5/5. However, the one that was supplied to me had little sharp bits on the inside of the handles, which would have caught on washing-up gloves or cut my fingers. I used a small file & fine sandpaper to smooth these off. So, because of this finishing issue, I have downgraded my score to 4/5. It is a great piece of equipment & a step up on the corers that you can buy in shops.

Good prduct
Not the cheapest of these available but seems well worth it. A good size, robust and all stainless steel - no plastic bits. Very satisfied
