Absolutely brilliant book! I would suggest also getting yourself A physician's desk reference also known as PDR It will help with other medications you might find yourself with and will explain doe saying and what to look for in case of overdose or side effectsAs a said this book is brilliant. In a grid down situation it's like having a doctor with you to guide you through everything you need to know and more! After buying this book I feel confident in buying every other book he and his wife have written especially concerning emergency medicine and grid down situations. I would suggest those of you who have a knowledge of medicine I do but I'm not a doctor I was training to be a medical assistant but I would suggest purchasing a practice kit for stitches and it's sold here on Amazon at around 20 bucks totally worth the money!All I can say to the author is Bravo and thank you so much for trusting us with such information that has been kept secret for so long!The only other thing I would recommend is some kind of book that would help you to be able to determine what someone is sick with before giving them antibiotics. How can one tell between a fever from a bacterial infection and a fever from a virus and not all viruses have fevers. That would be the book that I'm looking for the most if you were going to write another one it would be a chapter on each type of bacterial illness that each of these antibiotic cover with the signs and symptoms as well as dosing again even though it's in this book I don't think will have access to labs to be able to test for various strains of bacterial growth or to do gram stains and the like so it would be very helpful to understand the difference between scarlet fever and haemorrhagic fever or a fever from Sepsis.I highly recommend this book to every single person on this planet who is responsible for a family or even friends or at the very least neighbors and even homeless who can't help themselves. Thank you again so much for your attention to detail and sharing your medical knowledge with us in case we don't have any access to medical careI had a problem with a tooth infection and took your advice from the book because I wanted to try it out and lo and behold it worked! Of course I tried the least AV antibiotics which would have been the amoxicillin and the reason being is because that's what my husband was given after dental surgery a week before I tried it I noticed that it was working but By day 3 it was still bothersome so I reassessed and decided to DOS it as my husband was given dosing instructions at taking 1 every 6 hours and in 7 days it was completely gone. These antibiotics are exactly the same as they give human beings and charge more for at CVS and Rite Aid ...Anyway don't take my word for it don't believe me pray about it ask our father in heaven who does not lie but I am so grateful for you doctor and your beautiful wife thank you so much thank you thank you thank you

I feel this is a must have for anyone building a survival library. Especially to have a reference in print, in your hands and available without depending on electronics and other devices that might not work or fail when you need the information immediately.Book does a good job of covering most diseases and what will rapidly break out when society breaks down. Tells you which antibiotics work for what disease and dose and duration to take said medicines.When you can’t know what is infecting someone this book gives you many symptoms to look for and how to treat.It will help you to cover many many diseases from the most common to look for, to some that will usually only break out when our systems break down. There are a lot of water born diseases in disasters to watch for. It tells you how to treat for each. I find this very important because they say in any event or break down, disaster, water born illnesses kill more people than any other disease.I am glad I have this wonderful resource, have read it and placed in my preparedness library with my other medical books and references.

I was a Hospital Corpsman (medic) in the Navy, and later was a nurse in Correctional facilities.We live in interesting and unpredictable times. Having a family, I always want to be able to see my family through most any situation that could occur.This book lays out:1. How to get the antibiotics you need.2. Which antibiotics you need.3. What antibiotics to use for each illness/injury.I am better prepared after having purchased and read this book, and acquired many of the antibiotics suggested.

This is a great - must have, informative reference book - in which you need to have "before it is needed". ------ because------- You need to read the book and (with that knowledge) purchase the recommended antibiotics/antifungals and have them in your possession before sickness strikes. (in an emergency situation). I'm so grateful for the info. that Dr. Joe Alton and Nurse Amy share from their lifetime of study and practice. They care, obviously, for people enough to have the courage to trust us to study their teachings and apply what we've learned in emergency medical situations where there is "no help on the way"!!!!!! I have also purchased their book - "The Survival Medicine Handbook" - in which would be priceless in many medical situations.

This is an amazing resource. I know it was written to be life saving information in the event of a crisis. However, I found the information also helped me to make better health care decisions with my doctor.Dr. Alton does a great job of breaking down infectious disease and antibiotic treatment in a manner anyone can understand. I have purchased a second copy now because I have referenced my first copy so many times it is wearing out.
