Awesome
Excellent. Do read the manual, it’s not that long, but this is not your average coffee grinder. Many settings and options. Easy to understand if you just read the manual, download from their website. This is really built to last. One extra feature not mentioned is that the grounds bin is lighted. Might seem silly, but it shows the level of detail this company went to design what is probably the best grinder available. You can also order an extra beans bin just Incase you want to change beans, perhaps from regular to decaf, without turning the device upside down and making a mess, which is the case with other grinders. With this you just flip a lever, then twist and remove the bin.

I love my new grinder!
I upgraded from a Capresso burr grinder, which did a pretty good job grinding coffee. After seeing (and after tasting the coffee ground by) the Baratza Forte BG at a local restaurant I was impressed. The BG's consistent grind quality brings out the inner, nuanced, characteristics of coffee, making the purchase of this grinder well worth it. Plus, from what I hear, Baratza has excellent customer service, and parts (i.e. new burrs) can be ordered for their grinders. Update, 10/28/22: I had a little accident that involved my Boos cutting board and my Forte grinder, where the cutting fell and hit the Forte touch screen and cracked it (see pic). I contacted the Baratza customer service asking where I could purchase a new screen and they said they would send me a screen (I didn't have to pay for it!). Customer service was quick to respond to my inquiry and quick to ship out the new touch screen.

The Best Grinder For The Money!
This Forte BG replaced a Vario-W that I ran for 8 years and still works. I just wanted to upgrade to the Forte. On the Vario, I have gone through 3 sets of burr 2 steel and one ceramic. I also installed a new motor and belt 3 years ago, my own fault for trying to grind though jams instead of cleaning it to many times. Lol! One huge plus on this grinder is the the all metal grinding chamber. So much better than the plastic that the Vario had. I have already changed the burrs over to ceramic do to the fact that I am getting into espresso a week after I bought this grinder. The metal burrs were able to due the espresso with the beans that I was using without any problems. That might not be the case on other kinds of beans. The ceramic burrs grind my drip coffee perfectly. This wasn't the case on the Vario. It has to be the metal grinding chamber making the difference! This machine grinds fast and with precision! This is probably going to be my last grinder. I'd give it 10 stars if Amazon would let me. It's a huge step up from the Vario, which is also a great grinder and could have gone a few more years if I wasn't so lazy. Lol! They are a great company to work with and you can get any part if needed! I'm extremely happy with this machine! Highly Recommended!!!! Side note: When making grinder adjustments, shut the hopper of and run the machine until the grind chamber is empty! This is a must in order to not damage the adjustment mechanism! Also, the bean hopper and grind basket in the photos are off the Vario and are 8 years old. The new ones are still wrapped and look a lot nicer than these! Lol!

Whole Latte Love shipping older models of equipment.
Item recieved was not what was pictured. Whole Latte Love sent me an older model. Be sure to validate what hardware you receive from this vendor to ensure it is the latestest and greatest. Also....the device stopped working 2 days after the ability to send it back. The vendor was contacted to assist but their support team was less than helpful. Pretty much crickets from them.

Great repeatability, control and convenience!
Fantastic control over a repeatable dose for your quality espresso maker! I have been surprised that I actually use the fine grind adjustment lever (20 divisions of fineness for each notch of the course adjustment lever). Whenever I change beans, I find that a fine adjustment of a couple notches (or three or four!) is required to deliver a dose which results in the espresso shot parameters I am looking for (time to deliver the shot amount I want). I will never use a grinder again that doesn't allow dosing straight to the group filter holder. I will never use a grinder that doesn't control quantity, either by time or weight. I will never use a grinder again which doesn't have a fine grind size control with many divisions. Only slight qualm is that the quantity (weight) of grinds delivered varies slightly when one adjusts the fineness and does not adjust the time of grind. Finer grind results in slightly lower weight of grind in an allotted grind time.

Great grinder
This makes coffee that tastes absolutely amazing. I noticed I have to clean after *every * 14 gram grind, otherwise the taste is super muddy. I don't mind it because taste is amazing. Does anyone know why I have to clean after every single grind to avoid super muddy taste though?

Good value for the money
Purchased in 2018. Within a month the setscrew from the motor to the gears came loose. Customer service was very good. New motor. Better grinder for more consistent taste of the coffee. Takes about 1/4-1/2 pound to dial it in for the grind of a new bean. Good: Better refined taste you get than other less expensive grinders. Easy to use and setup. Never had it jam. Poor: The plastic cup that the grind goes in is very static friendly. Pain to deal with. Averall would I buy it again, yes. I replace this with 2 different $1800 grinders. One for Espresso and one for drip

Fantastic Home Grinder
It's hard to imagine a home grinder getting better than this. Prior to buying it, I had a high-end hand grinder (I won't say which since I don't want to disparage the maker). It was good, but the Forte handily beats it. My v60s brew clearer, richer, and crisper; plus, it pulls off excellent espresso, which my hand grinder struggled to do. I had a few questions when I purchased it, and Baratza's customer support was incredibly friendly. The only downside to note is the cost, but as the saying goes—you pay for what you get.
