Q: Does anyone know how pink himalayan salt compares to Korean sea salt?

I would say the big difference is purity. (also one is pink and one is white--ha ha). Both have more minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium than normal salt. Korean sea salt is sun dried in the tidal flats of southern South Korea. It takes awhile to evaporate and it is aged a few years before use, but it is still pretty new and subject to environmental pollutant. Himalayan is mined in the mountains of Punjab region of Pakistan (so why not Pakistan sea salt?). Since the salt crystallized 10s of thousands of years ago it would not have the heavy metals and pollutants now found in the ocean...only what would be in the air.

I can't read Korean, but I know it makes great kimchi.
