I bought the black hat (for work) in size medium. I normally use a large hat. However, customer reviews about sizing running large prompted me to go medium. Very helpful. Medium is spot on.My driving job requires me to wear a bluetooth headset. Plus, I recently invested in hearing aids. So, with strong rainstorms in the forecast, I decided to protect my head, and my investments in equipment. I am required to assist passengers onto and off the vehicle, and to operate a wheelchair lift. When you're doing this in a rain shower, you don't have a free hand to hold an umbrella for yourself.This hat performed excellently. It as 2-3 steps above a floppy bucket hat, but less expensive. Its rain resistance has been great, as demonstrated by its performance this week in a number of hard downpours. While it does not have the style of a $75-$150 fedora, it DOES look very sharp as a semi-casual hat to be worn with Dockers, golf shirt and jacket. Looks just a bit dressy, with a tinge of Indiana Jones flair.The hat did come a bit crumpled in the packaging, but just a bit of tweaking got it looking good.I priced hats at a local bricks and mortar store, and most of comparable function and look came in at $35 to $75 a pop. This is a good looking, functional rain hat with some flair. Thumbs up!

There is nothing to dislike about this hat! Or any other Dorfman, as far as I'm concerned. I love me a good fitting hat that feels like you have nothing on your head. The hat was very well made and packed. It came with paper inside the hat to help keep its shape in rough handling shipping and it was wrapped in plastic in a nice heavy cardboard box. This hat is made of durable canvas that you can mildly shape the way you want it. This particular hat has no wire around the brim. You can make it a fedora or a safari and it will keep that shape. It is water repellent. But I put OtterWax on about all my hats to prolong the life and because I like the distressed looks that the wax gives. It also stiffens the hat and that makes holding the shape you want easier. This is my 4th Dorfman Pacific hat and I wouldn't wear any other brand. This hat was a tad too big, not a whole size or even half size. I put a small piece of the foam adjusters that they sent with it under the sweat band and noone knows it's there and I don't know it's there. That's what there for, to make your hat fit perfectly. As you can see from the pics, I like mine safari style. It has a 2 inch brim and is 4 1/2 inches tall from the top of the brim to the very top part of the hat. I highly recommend this hat and the quality and would buy again. Will definitely buy more Dorfman Pacific hats in the future! >Peace<

Ok. The hat arrived well packed and in wonderful shape. And fast. I really liked the look and feel. The crown is pretty stiff, which is good. Nice felt. Then I tried it on a it fell to the bottom of my ears. I ordered the medium as I wear a 56-57cm (7-7 1/8} and the tag in the hat said medium. According to the Dorfman size chart that should be right. Well it's not.I was getting ready to send it back when my son came in and asked what I was doing. Told him and he said "Bummer. I wouldn't mind a hat like that." He wears a 59-60 (still has his hair. lol.} and it was a tad big for him. I put a couple sizers in and it him perfect. So he got a new hat and I didn't have the hassle of sending it back.The only con is that the sizing is WAY OFF.

The customer reviews on this hat are very helpful especially sizing, I ordered a size smaller than normal and it fits very well. It was adequately packaged. and it arrived undamaged. I like this hat.

This hat was unbelievably way to large. I have tried on a lot of hats trying to find a hat that fit good ( I have a large hat size ) 2 X has always been tight on me no mater who made the hat. this 2X fell over my ears. I mean literally over my ears. I can not imagine who would wear a hat this big. Unless they sent me a 4X hat by mistake this hat was by no means a 2X hat. The hat did not say what size it was. If this is how the hats run from this company if you take a 2X hat order a Med hat. If you wear a hat size from M down consider a different company it will never fit. The hat quality and looks are very good. to bad the sizes are so messed up. It did come crushed in the box with crush marks that I doubt would go away. I tried to fix it but the marks just kept popping back at will. stiff hat. Needs to be shipped with more protection.

I bought this hat for my husband to replace a very old one just like it. He loves it! It's well made, comfortable, stylish, and keeps the sun off his face. The twill holds up well in rain and snow; it's easy to spot clean. This hat does run a bit big. Based on measurements, he should wear a large, but the medium fits perfectly. All that said, this fabulous hat was wrapped in a plastic bag and stuffed into a box that was too small. There was nothing to protect the hat's shape. The crown was crushed and the brim completely bent. We bought two sizes and both were poorly packaged. The Stingy Brim needs to do better.

I purchased this same hat several years back from a different vendor, but rest assured its the same hat. I paid more for the first one, so the price is right. I use this hat for outdoor landscape work and it protects my head and face from the sun very well. The hat gets dirty and it cleans well on the top rack of the dishwasher. Comes out holding its shape fairly well after drying. The hat is light on your head and it has a very nice look. The "leather" band will bleed its color when it gets wet from sweat, but its a work hat for me so I don't care. The hat is very comfortable on my head and I absolutely love this hat.

It's a good looking hat and can be worn in two or more 'styles'. Just what I wanted.

My third DP hat. To replace a lost one. My constant companion and well used over the years so of good quality and hard wearing. Easy to clean sweat off with a wet brush and comes up looking good. Cant recommend these enough. Would benefit from a lanyard but a long bootlace does the job.

This hat is good quality for the price and I will buy another. It's sizing is incorrect. My noggin is measured at 7 7/8" ... I purchased an XL which per sizing chart fits a 7 5/8" at max ... and my hat fits loose but acceptable. Depending if you are at bottom or top of size scale ... I recommend you order 1 to 2 sizes smaller. No hat shape protection is provided by Amazon in shipping ... my hat was scrunched with creases ... expect to steam and iron to perfection.
