Would you recommend for my 14 yr old daughter, fruity and floral?

It's perfect for your daughters first grown up fragrance. Not too overpowering and a quality scent that stays light throughout the day. I think she will like the very pretty bottle. My mother told me to buy quality perfume and apply it once - it shouldn't be needed again and again and I think this will fit the bill for her. I don't think she would be disappointed and it's the next step up from younger girls products. Good luck.

Is this a real sweet scent or more of a light powder scent?

It is a sweet sophisticated scent, slightly fruity. But it is definately not light! And it lasts a long time!
