This is the olive oil I grew up with. Truthfully, olive oil wasn't terribly popular way back when, so it may have been the only kind available in the suburban groceries. It's a good, solid, workhorse kind of olive oil which has been kind of eclipsed in popularity by fancier brands in recent years. In all honesty, tho, I usually can't discern much difference in the fancier stuff for the things I use olive oil for--which is pretty much everything (cooking, salads, pasta, veggies, etc.). Pompeian is always reliable in terms of quality and taste. And then there's the price. That can't be beat--way better than my local grocers. The price on Amazon is generally great, with the added bonus that it occasionally drops even lower--which is the time to really snap it up. (I put it in my cart and watch for the price fluctuations.) Aaand, you get it delivered right to your door. (That's also important to some of us.) I will say that it seems to ship just in a box as it is, with no bubble wrap or anything. That hasn't been a problem for me, and the bottles have arrived undamaged, but others have mentioned a leakage issue so I guess that's something to be aware of. All in all, tho, I highly recommend Pompeian EVOO in terms of the price and quality of the product.

I buy this over and over! Be careful I purchased an olive oil & my husband told me there are substitute or hijaked Olive oils! To my surprise 1 I bought is sunflower oil! I couldn't believe it. Although, sunflower oil is good oil for certain things when I want Olive oil, it better be Olive oil. I use both oils now but I know what is what. He calks it the "Agra-Mafia"! :D

It is hard to find EVOO at this price that tastes good, is consistent, and fresh. I do wish it was available in metal tins. It is not a high end oil, but is suitable for everyday use and is mellow/not bitter.

This is the ideal olive oil. I regularly use the El Gallo brand. Is a very good portuguese brand, and this oil dont have any to envy. Its ideal for salads if you like the strong body and taste of the olives.

We are super happy with this olive oil and have it on subscribe and save. We use it for so many things! The only problem is that the bottle is pretty thin...so by the time we receive it, it's all kinds of jacked up and won't sit properly on the counter. We are going to have to get a bunch of glass bottles to put it in...because there's just no way that the bottle provided is going to work out with any amount of use. The smaller bottles are a bit more durable. I would suggest either getting the smaller ones, or making sure that you have something else to put it in.

I bought this because we go through olive oil like crazy and needed a larger size. It has a great flavor and I use it for everything from cooking to salad dressing.

I purchase this to refill my small bottle so it really saves me money. The flavor is so good I even use it to pop popcorn.

large bottle and very cost-effective to buy this size. But, I have a smaller bottle to pour the olive oil in that is more user-friendly to use from day-to-day.
