Great resource for NW Scuba Divers
Fantastic book full of nice quality color photos. My favorite aspect is the species index, which features an easily recognizable silhouette of that family of fish to make identifying the general species easier. From there you navigate to the chapter on that family of fish and can quickly browse through to see specifically which sub-species you saw on your dive. Awesome tool to have. This is my second copy. Would and have recommended.

Great Guide for Fish Only
This is a great fish identification book for fish. It does not cover other aquatic life, but makes a really good companion to other books I have collected to look up critters and plants we see while SCUBA diving in the Puget sound area.

Diving must have
I bought this used and it was a little more worse for wear than I expected, but the price was good so who cares. Great information and great to have for diving.

Most complete guide to fish identification for the Pacific Northwest waters. Andy Lamb has done amazing job of giving us so much information on each page. The photographs are excellent. I've been carrying this book to all our dive sites now.

Essential handbook for those diving the northwest
An excellent update to the first edition that is well worth purchasing even if you have the original. If you are a frequent diver of the pacific northwest you will find this book to be extremely helpful in identifying a broad spectrum of fish. The book strikes a good balance between photos and written text and achieves its goal of being a good general reference resource.

Well done...
This is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to know more about the underwater beasties of the Pacific NW... As a diver I see quite a number of them and it's great to be able to accurately identify which ones are which, rather than just saying "Wow look at that one..."

Book - which I’m giving as a gift right after it arrived - was not wrapped and edges are damaged.
Item is great- photos, drawings, information! But the book arrived damaged at the ends cuz it was not wrapped before placing in the big plastic shipping envelope. I am giving it as a gift today so can’t return it and have now placed weights on it to make the edges look better - it no longer looks new. Embarrassed to give this as a gift. I’m quite angry that it was not prepared properly for shipping. Don’t know how to let Amazon know about this problem since I don’t have time to return it for another copy - which may also come damaged! Please contact me.
