Neil Peart: Taking Center Stage: A Lifetime of Live Performance Paperback – September 1, 2012

This is a great, beh in and the scenes book on the best rock and roll drummer from the band Rush. It's a must have for any Percussionist, Rush fan or musician that wants to expand their knowledge.

For those who are Rush fans, this book is a very interesting take on one of the 3 elements of the band. For those who are Rush fans AND drummers as well, this book provides a window to an astonishingly great drummer! Any fan of the band knows the musical virtuosity of Geddy, Alex and Neil, but reading the charts and comments takes it to a new, and much higher level. The charts are easy to read (NOT easy to play!), the pictures are wonderful, and the side comments are humorous, insightful, and refreshing. An added bonus are the drum set-up charts to see how Neil's kits have changed and grown over the years. Another highlight are the touring notes from Neil. Clearly, Joe Bergamini has put countless efforts into this book, and it shows! The one thing that would make the book better??? Make it longer! Very highly recommended!

Excellent view into Neil Peart’s craft as a drummer. His passing is a great tragedy.

Well designed book... Could have used even more drum set parts for songs but still great to finally find some transcriptions unavailable until now. A must own for Peart fans everywhere and a fine companion piece to the DVD.

This was a Christmas gift for a huge Rush fan who also happens to be a drummer. His first words were that he knew exactly what songs the sheet music was for and couldnt wait to try them out himself...even though he says he can never come close to what Neil can do. Big thumbs up from the recipient.

This is a great collections of sheet music for any one who wants to see what an amazing drumbeat Neil can produce. Great pictures and captions. If you are a drummer it is a must have, if your a rush fan it will be a great addition to your collection

For every Drummer who's interested in Neil Peart (nice and detailed charts) and also interesting enough for every Rush fan to get some inside info from this great band!

While this book is not necessary for most [as it is in PDF form on the third DVD in the set] it still nice to have.An oversized soft cover book, it goes through a bunch of the songs complete with a background, analysis and sheet music for them - plus some pictures.

O conteúdo do livro é excepcional, mas a versão para o Kindle é um absurdo de ruim. Não da nem pra chamar de “versão”. TODAS, absolutamente todas as páginas estão cortadas no lado direito. Tanto o texto quanto as transcrições, o que praticamente inviabiliza sua leitura. Por favor, corrijam isto. Não é algo difícil. Me impressiona uma empresa como a Amazon ter a coragem de lançar um material deste no mercado.

Bellissimo libro con tantissime foto che ritraggono il grande neil peart dai inizi ad oggi e spiega i brani più significativi dei rush con partiture dei brani, trascritti da joe Bergamini. Un ottimo libro di 200 pagine che ogni batterista che ama questa magnifica band e neil , dovrebbe avere.

This book is filled with exclusive information about one of the greatest drummers of all time. Neil is arguably one of the greatest, but in my mind there is no match for such a combination of technical, creative, and musicality skills as Neil has. He is #1 to me! I recommend this book to any serious drummer wanting to learn the "how did he do that?".
