Had an older custom boat toilet seat and hinge broke - these worked great and saved me $$$ in avoiding to pay for a new seat.

Without a power drill (so manually screwing), it can take a bit of time and effort, but the hinges work well!

I needed to position the seat forward and drill new holes. trying to use the existing screw holes doesn't work for Kohler, at least not mine.

Worked with my Eljer toilet. I used the same drilled holes in both the seat and lid with a piece of toothpick inserted to insure the screws would hold. Using the same holes caused a slight misalignment of the top lid sitting slightly forward. Not a problem, for only I noticed the difference. Delivery Took a little longer than expected to get the free shipping, but all parts and screws were counted. Better solution than replacing the entire unit!

The seat will not stay up when this item is used with padded seat and cover . The seat will no longer stay up.

this worked perfectly fine. The holes were not oriented correctly for my toilet seat (but I knew that before I bought it). Just drilled a few new holes in the seat, and it works perfectly fine. You obviously only strip the heads of the long nylon screws if you put too much pressure on them.

For years I had been replacing the whole toilet seat when a hinge broke. I saw this on line and decided to give it a try. Was glad I did easy to install and a great saver.
