Best waffle maker ever
Does exactly what the claim it does. Easy to clean and to use. It makes the best waffles we have ever have made at home. We purchased the electronic type and very glad we did. The waffles comes out perfect ever time. They are evenly in size with thickness and evenly cooks each and every time. Timer is perfect and haven't had any burnt waffles yet. Great for a gift or for yourself. Doesn't take up much counter space in your kitchen. The measuring cup that comes with the waffle maker makes the perfect size waffle and the tool to clean the volcano opening on top works great, only wish it had a long string that attached to the waffle maker to be able to keep track of it. Other than that not one other complaint at all. Would buy it again if ever wears out. Never seen this model in any store.

it's a learning experience
Learning to get the batter thin enough to cover the grill. Learning to pour at the fast enough speed to get the batter in before it starts cooking and you can't get enough in. Learning to set the temperature/ cooking time to the right place to make it all come together. I do like this waffle maker. The first key is to get the right batter box - Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix. Get NOTHING else. Add a bit more water than the box says. Everything will be just perfect. Believe me on this. Lots of experiments. Lots of failed mixes.

Great waffle maker, minimal cleaning
This is a great waffle maker. If you follow the directions and make sure your batter is thin enough, it fills the entire mold. My only beef is that the first waffle you cook is a bit soggy, even at the "Extra Crispy" setting. The rest turn out great. Cleaning is a breeze and the measuring cup really helps. The batter never flows out onto the machine like in other waffle irons. The funnel on top both directs the batter into the volcano-shaped space and catches (and cooks, kind of) the overflow batter when it heats up. If you like waffles with minimal clean up, this is the one for you.

Unit smelled of chemicals and the measuring cup was missing....
This unit seems to be able to make a decent waffle, but so far it has yet to make one that doesn't have various spots of uncooked batter. I have tried all the settings so I'll reserve my final rating until then, but overall I'd give this 3 stars. I bought it for my kids so they can make waffles on their own, so I intentionally chose a simple unit, but it's not super well made and the cord is very short so I can only plug it into one area in my kitchen. Also, the measuring cup was missing so someone must have returned it and not returning all the pieces.

Overly Complex, and Simply Did Not Work
We first tried our new unit at a breakfast party for some friends. That was a big mistake. I was feeding 10 people. I made a much thinner batter than usual, per the directions, and followed the directions as best I could. I tried making a total of 4 waffles in the machine before giving up and scrambling a dozen eggs and using my left over batter to make pancakes. The first waffle did not appear to ever get done, but burned itself to both surfaces where I had to cool and scrape clean. On the 2nd one, I tried an EVOO mist, and at least the waffle came out, but was woefully under-cooked and split down the middle, but at least I got it out of the machine. The 3rd one I tried olive oil Pam and I finally got it cooked by adding 30 seconds a few times and it cooked a total of 6 minutes. The 4th time, the display went screwy and was missing some segments for a while, until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I cooked it for a total of 7 minutes cook time, plus some annoying warm up time (which actually seemed to crisp it).. Between waffles, the mechanism clogged and had to be cleaned using the tool that they provided. It is not really practical for a family if you have to spend a hour messing with the machine to get 4 waffles out of it, with a large percentage of the batter being wasted in the cleaning process between waffles. It seemed like a clever idea, but the device is overly complex and the complex features did not appear to be implemented correctly. The simple-minded clam-shell waffle iron that I used for 30-plus years (before it finally fell apart) worked a lot better and was a lot more reliable.

Perfect!
I bought this as a gift for my dad for fathers day and he LOVES it. He has been asking to do family breakfasts so we can use it for morning waffles, and also he has been making them at night to make waffle ice cream sandwiches! He loves the fact that you pour it into the top rather than a press.

Thin, uneven colored waffles.
The directions say that the batter must be thin. Well, that is true! If it isn’t, the batter gets clogged in the pouring area. The waffles are not even or thick like other Belgian waffles. The crispness needs to be in lighter setting or you will get super dark, think waffles.

An incredible waffle maker.
We love this waffle maker. So long as you use the provided measuring cup and spatula device, the waffles are full and easy to remove. I learned also to wipe off the pour area after each waffle. Doing so ensures full waffles and no clogged parts of the waffle mold. It is a bit pricy, but totally worth it.
