So far hasn't malfunctioned.
Got 2 with order. Relatively cheap. Works nicely. Some of the reviews said you can't have continuous sparking. So far 3-5 seconds is a good stretch. Maybe extended left on would overheat.

It is what is.
Exactly what i expected for 8 bucks. works just fine.dont over volt.dont touch ends.Again 8 bucks.

Powerful!
The media could not be loaded. This thing when put together with a 9volt battery is very powerful!

ok, but nowhere near 400 KV!
Keep in mind that, although these will spark a great deal, they are not anywhere near 400 KV as advertised. Judging from the spark gap size, I'd say about 25 to 40 THOUSAND volts at best. They seem to be about 12-15 watts output, so not very strong. Can make for a nice display, but always have a spark gap and don't run them too long.

Low Spark Module - Not Recommended
Hello All, It's Steve@HobbyADHD With Another Review! This product was a bit of a disappointment. I couldn't get a very hot spark or the stated arc length no matter what I tried. As an ignition source it was blown out by almost any amount of pressurized air passed through it. It couldn't even reliably ignited a properly mixed propane feed.Construction: Very well build. I had no issues with this at all.Usability: I didn't have a way to test the spark charge, but comparing it to other online 400k videos this was nowhere near the same. It looked like a 40k at best.Issues: The spark couldn't hold up or ignite like a 400k should have.Pros: Solid constructionCons: Low spark.Small gap.Unable to reliably light propane.I would not recommend this product. It didn't appear to be the 400k that as advertised.

20 kHz ac output, Draws a lot of current.
The scope photo is taken across a 2.2 ohm resistor in series with the device. The voltage source is a 9 volt battery. The high voltage output with no arc is 20 kHz. Connected to a spark plug it went up to 40 kHz and drew more current. The rms current is around 1 Amp so the battery will not last long.
