Great Solution for Keeping Mice and Rats Away!
This under-the-hood flashing light has been a great addition to help keep mice and rats out of my engine. The light is bright and the flashing pattern seems to do the trick — I haven’t seen any signs of mice out ears since installing it. It was easy to set up and gives me peace of mind, especially during the colder months when critters like to sneak under the hood. Simple, effective, and worth it!

It works
I cannot say enough good things about this and have recommended it dozens of times over the years. A few years ago I noticed evidence of mice under the hood of my Chevy Bolt EV. And you can see what they did to my cabin air filter in the photo. First I tried peppermint oil-soaked swabs under the hood and in the garage, but it only seemed to work if I refreshed them no less than every 3 days. It was a hassle and I couldn't keep up. Some cheap plug-in sonic repellers in the garage also did not fix my problem. But this product absolutely worked and I've been mouse-free for over 3 years now.I zip-tied it under the hood, pointing its strobes right where I saw evidence of mice. It was easy connect to the 12v and I haven't touched it since. It seems very powerful, sp it might bother nearby pets. My kids and I can hear it faintly while standing near the car but we don't hear it while inside. This really took a lot if stress out of my life as I was no longer worried about rodents chewing through my expensive car wiring. If it ever broke (been perfect over 3 years now) I would absolutely buy it again.

No way to know if this works, but there's hope
Rodents have been at my car twice in 6 months; $2200! So I installed this in the engine compartment. Simple to do. I've checked the device several times. The lights blink the way they should. They aren't bright so there is no concern that passersby will notice it. I think that the best you can hope for is that devices like this and the things that smell will make your car less attractive than something else nearby. If there isn't anything...

Get it!
Rats chewed my wires and it cost me $700 to fix. I live in a building in Chicago where we park in back near the garbage bins. I dont drive much so I guess the rats saw my car as their new nest. I bought this after reading the reviews and I also bought peppermint essential oil to mix with water and spray the area down bi-weekly (i also move my car more). That was 6 months ago and no issues. Get it!

What the HECK?
You need to know I thought this was going to be a solution, but it turned out to be a BIG mistake of a purshase. I have a mice problem in my grill - We keep it covered and a mouse has been building his next in my burners, Every time I go to light the grill, there is a mouse running out. The first time? The little bugger almost got a little toasty. His house was smoking. Burning dow the house, indeed!I didn't want to trap, as I had already found one of his relatives in the storage area where the gas tank goes already. There was a funny smell coming from under there, and sure enough there was the dead little guy underneath. I disposed of him, cleaned out the area really well, then went looking for a solution. This product was recommended to me, even though it's initial purpose is to go in your car, attached to the battery. It also says in the specifications on Amazon - "Designed for vehicles but can be utilized almost everywhere such as garage, attic, barn where a 12 - 24 volts battery is available". The meager instruction literature has nothing about this type of connection. To make matters worse? There is no way to contact the manufacturer as their name is not on the literature, though they do say 'Contact us" in that same literature. How can I contact you if you don't have any email or 800#. Pretty messed up. I found on Google, but that is shady shady McShady. Oh yeah, a 24V battery starts at around $70. Thanks for telling me. Crappy product from my viewpoint. Got a repellant spray for $10 at my local hardware store.Stay away from this one, folks. Oh yeah? It's small and plastic, so there is that. Looks a bit shoddy. You get what you pay for, I guess.

The wonderful rodent repellent
Hello again, everybody, Mr. B here. I had purchased this product couple years prior and it was the battery version. Unfortunately, it lived its lifetime so I had to purchase another one and I was smart and purchase the direct connect version. You connect to the battery, and it is a very very easy connection process. Doing my research on the common rat that we have in Baltimore, Maryland, you learn they are creatures of habits so when you install the product, it takes approximately a week for the rat to return day after day and , learn that there is something there stopping him from hanging out. But then they never returned. You have to pressure wash your vehicle to remove all smells of the rat. Because that’s how other rats know where to hang out. We use social media and neon signs, they use their urine. Sorry I went into so much detail, but I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anybody that has problem with rats and if you have rats around your property and you’re being naïve and think they don’t get up in your engine well after your first $400 repair bill on wiring you wish you had took my advice! I don’t think there’s enough room to explain why the rats true on your wiring but if you can do your research about electrolysis that will explain why they think There is water inside your wires!!!Until next time, God bless and Godspeed!Your friend,Mr. B
