Will this replace an SW10 D in the living quarters of a horse trailer?

It is the same size and will replace the sw10d. The sw10d should be gas only electronic ignition. The sw10de is a gas and electric model and is the same size but the electric side will not work unless you wire the trailer for it but the gas side will still work.

How long do hot showers last?

It depends on three things - how cold the water is that you are heating, how hot you like your shower, and how much volume of water you like to use. That being said, in the summer, I can take about a 10 minute shower and in the winter about an 8 minute shower. I am guessing that the water temperature while I am showering is about 110 degrees. Yes this should replace it it's very easy to do you remove the screws from the outer side it does not come with a door so keep your outer door order a new one requires two screws in the front and two screws from the back side mine was under the sink very easy to get to a house fittings connections very easy you should have no problem
