Great first edf and second plane.
Perfect little jet. Was scared to fly at first but it took off on wheels perfect. Did take a lot of runway. Had to fly it at least 75% power to make it move without stalling. It’s not very fast. Maybe 3-4 min battery. Flew great and easy to land. Just remember to keep the speed up on landing.

Fun Little Communist!
Beginner friendly model that will survive pilot induced damage ....simply immerse in hot water and it regains its original shape...say goodbye to that crushed Coke can look! Switchable SAFE is effective and a useful feature. EDF power is slow to build but fine once you are up to speed. I'm slowly teaching myself acrobatic maneuvers with this plane and am having fun in the process. Forget the landing gear and enjoy what this model does well.

You MUST NOT crash this plane!
I wanted to love this plane because it looks SO good and is SO portable - you can take it anywhere and fly from your hand or a paved runway. HOWEVER despite Horizon's videos saying it's perfect as someone's first EDF and SAFE mode is very beginner-friendly, I can assure you they are assuming you are NOT a novice at flying RC when they say that.Reason #1:The foam this plane is made from is quite brittle and there is nothing protecting the soft foam nose from turning into a crushed soda can after one nose-first "landing." Moreover, the force of the impact of my ONE nose-first landing caused by ONE mistake (which was from maybe 15ft in the air) ripped one of the wings clean off and the vertical stabilizer in the back had a fissure where it connects to the fuselage. Mind you, these parts of the plane did NOT impact the ground. This is why I am saying the plane is too brittle - you cannot afford to make a mistake that leads to a crash because ONE such crash will likely destroy the plane. Why not just glue it back together you say? The tiny aileron servos on the wings have tiny wires that connect to the receiver inside the fuselage and when the wing ripped off, the wires got ripped out too. Now I do know my way around a soldering iron, but the scale of these tiny connections are too... well, tiny... to be repaired by hand.Reason #2SAFE mode is ephemeral. Following the instructions in the manual, I held the two control sticks on my transmitter to the outside corners of their range and flipped the GEAR switch 10 times (five on-off cycles). Sure enough the ailerons did a little dance indicating... well SOMETHING... and herein lies the rub: did I just enable SAFE mode or did I just disable it? There is literally nothing in the manual that explains how to tell if SAFE mode is active or not, only how to toggle the setting. How do you find out which way it's toggled? Well you put it in the air and if it fails to self-level and crashes shortly after takeoff, that means SAFE was off and you need to toggle it one more time. But wait... the plane is destroyed now because it was too brittle to handle that crash. Do you see the problem here?Horizon: if you are telling people that this little MiG is a great first EDF jet for people getting into RC flying, that suggests it can take a hard landing or two, which it can't. Furthermore, the status of SAFE mode needs to have a visible indicator so novice pilots can confirm that it is ON before throwing their plane into the air. The pilots that rely on SAFE mode are the very same pilots that won't be able to control the plane when it becomes apparent that SAFE mode was off when they took off. I would hate to think that Horizon engineers made the conscious decision leave it ambiguous because they knew it would lead to more sales of replacement planes and parts...Dissatisfied and more than a little disappointed,sB

Fun
E-flite planes are great. This is no exception. Fun little plane, you just have to give it a very hard through when hand launching. On a side note, I had to deal with Horizon Hobby a while ago for an issue with a different plane. Their customer service is excellent. Thanks!

Size matters: this is UMX and can anywhere!
Flys very stable and remarkably slow when you want it to. Has nice speed and vertical thrust when needed. Jet fan not very loud. This is nice! I’ve been landing in the grass and no damage.. cause the wheels are removable!

Set CG right for fun flying experience give 60 to 70% power on launch no more no less
Great flying little EDF jet. Looks beautiful in the air. Follow manual for battery placement for CG or you will not enjoy flying it. Much misinformation on Web regarding CG.

fragile rudder function design
Had 2. They both had rudder malfunction after hard landings. They can't take a hit, servos stop working. The steerable front wheel is connected to the rudder pulley and damages the rudder servo on hard landings
