NOW Foods Supplements, Red Mineral Algae Plus Vitamin D-2, Joint Health*, 180 Veg Capsules

We have been taking plant based, vegetarian calcium with minerals for years now, with good results I might add, but the brand we were taking was getting so expensive. The other negative with the prior brand is that it had excessive vitamin D which the doctor said needed to come down. I was on the hunt for something similar and this fit the bill! I've taken Now supplements in the past and I trust this family owned company for quality supplements. They are made and tested in the USA. With this brand it is in capsule form which is easier to take. We take two capsules each with breakfast and dinner meals. No issues. This is an Aquamin supplement which is red marine algae that is highly bioactive and contains 72 trace minerals along with the calcium and magnesium. So along with the cheaper price this quality supplement is a win-win in my book. We will continue to re-order.

This is such an amazing anti-inflammatory. Serving size is four pills, which I spread over a 24 hour period. My joints are much happier. Also, I have MS, and this makes a notable and pretty immediate difference with a particularly painful inflammation issue.

This calcium is especially good for bone building. I've used it and I see the difference. I recommend it.

Great product

I bought VegLife calcium/magnesium for many years but when it was no longer available, I looked for another source. This has worked well. Same formula. Price good.

I didnt rate it 5 yet as I only have had 1. However its hard to find a reasonably priced calcium from algae. After I have a chance to finish this I will reevaluate.

I waited for two cycles to be sure it was this product that reduced my normally horrid menstrual cramps to a bare minimum. I bought this for increasing bone density and improving my teeth. Little did I know that it was also make my menstrual cramps so much less. There's even an NIH study about calcium and Vit. D for period pain. There's also a product that uses the same type of red algae calcium for premenstrual symptoms and pain relief. I had partial success using a dietary enzyme for period pain before, but that didn't work consistently. This red algae calcium is much better. NSAIDs really mess up your gut, and I wanted to reduce dependence on them. I take only two at a time because taking more than 500 mg of calcium in one dose doesn't absorb well. I take a second 500 mg dose at least two hours after my first dose. Don't take calcium with caffeine since caffeine reduces calcium absorption. I don't eat a lot of dairy. Good luck and God bless!

I take this everyday for calcium. I think it is more bio available.

Just be careful the Vitamin D2 ingredient is meant hypoparathyroidism (underactive parathyroid glands) so is different from Vitamin D3 although is voted #1 Top rated.
