The Mikuni Carburetor I received is a FAKE knockoff - Confirmed by Harley Dealership.
Unfortunately, I purchased the Mikuni Carburetor from this seller back in Feb, 2019. I have been trying to dial in the idle jetting for almost 2 years, getting it pretty good, but never perfect. As a result, my 2003 HD Road King would always run a little rich at idle and just rolling into the throttle. So I re-jetted, checked for intake leaks, exhaust leaks, cleaned the carb, filter, re-tuned, checked timing, etc. I kept working from one potential solution to another. Finally, feeling defeated, I took my bike to the local Harley dealership to try to figure out the issue. After a few hours of labor, the HD-Certified mechanic and the dealership owner came out to tell me that the carburetor was not a real Mikuni and that they had seen this a few times in the past. It had factory casting defects within the float bowl and one of the passage ways, along with several other inidcators that do not match real Mikuni built carbs. They had take the entire carburetor apart to finally find the issues.Well, I did realize it took two years to figure this out. So I reached out to the seller with my full story. Given the circumstances, I was hoping for a refund... Didn't happen. It was worth a try. The product was good enough to fool me into thinking I was missing something. Oh well, it happens. I'll have to write this one off as a loss. The bright side is I learned a LOT along the way.I would not recommend taking the chance on this product.

read the directions and get the mikuni choke cable it works a lot better
first off it didn't come in a mikuni box so I had my doubts so I hooked it up she started right up and would not throttle at all every twist she stalled or back fired looked at videos on youtube all said gaskets, replaced the manifold gasket just because that's the only one that came off still same problem, come to find out it was the idle mixer jet,it needs to be replaced not sure up or down yet but I was able to twist the throttle with little hesitation so i'm happy with that, this is why you must read the manual two three times if you have to, if I had another carburetored bike I would buy another one for sure

Float filled with fuel
Carb installed, started and ran great. Went to start the next day and fuel was pouring out the overflow. Disassembled the carb and found that the float had completely filled with fuel leaving the float needle wide open. Glad this happened in my driveway instead of out in the middle of know where. 5-7 days to receive a replacement float. Should of bought a real Mikuni.

Excellent carb!
My Harley never runs as good as it does since replacing the stock carb with the HSR42. The old carb sounded like it had a rod knock or piston slap almost tore the engine apart until a friend told me it was my old carb that was worn out. He was right. Best upgrade yet.

Mikuni Carb
What an incredible buy! The install made a BIG difference on performance. Even though I am not a mechanic, I was able to install the Mikuni carb myself. I rode my hog to the dealership to check out my work. They said to looked good and it was tuned properly. I would recommend this purchase and seller to anyone with a stock CV carb. Some of the guys at the dealership even recommended the Mikuni over another popular brand. They said it is easier to work on and tune.

GREAT Carb!
My factory card was going bad, so i got this as a factory replacement. it worked great right out of the box and was not hard to install. i followed the instructions and had it on the bike in no time. the only thing i had to adjust was the idle, it was great! i got the bike running better than ever and i have had no problems with it at all. Very happy with the purchase, and i would do it all over again....what a bargain!
