If you're looking for closure/understanding/entertainment/motivation this is it
Where do I begin... first off I read this book in its entirety in one day. Being a big X supporter (his definition of fan was something I was not during his life) I was extremely fascinated with his life and as a fellow artist I was dying to know more answers about his start up, how he willed and created such an immense fanbase. I also wanted to know who X really was through all of the media and bull that was out there I wanted an unbiased view on it ALL.And that was what I got.I knew X wasn't perfect and this book really gets into the DETAILS of all his angles, ugly and beautiful. His life was very much like a movie but his attitude and reaction to things were what separated him (I believe) from all his peers in similar distraught upbringings. X could've perished into the night on multiple occasions, just to be remembered as another black man a victim of the hood and we are so blessed he lived to being a pioneer of rap bringing a fresh (and very large) wave."Look At Me" hits every point without missing a beat and will answer every questions you had on Jahseh Onfroy and XXXTENTACION. This book will give still saddened fans definite closure. This book will give his intense haters a sense of understanding. This will entertain the heck out of you as well, I mean this guy was BANANAS! But most importantly it will motivate you to carry on his soul, carry him with you in accomplishing your dreams because that is something he loved seeing the most.Thank you Jonathan Reiss for writing such a wonderful book I feel like now... I truly understand.

Great Detail and Background about Jahseh!
Although I am still reading, I have so far enjoyed the background given about Jahseh Onfroy aka XXXTentacion. The theme, in my opinion, that Jonathan Reiss wanted readers to understand was that Jahseh had a troubled background. From abandonment to financial troubles to experiencing feelings of being misunderstood, he had troubles like many of us. His problems were just magnified. Reiss does an amazing job of also providing both informative and detailed history on things that influenced Jahseh such as his Jamaican culture, the socioeconomic background of South Florida, close friends who have gone on to further their careers, and previous interviews, articles, and accounts from childhood friends. Overall, I have been hooked reading this book since I purchased it. I encourage all who are interested in learning who Jahseh is, to purchase this book. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!Job Well Done Jonathan Reiss!

Very good read
I like how the author handled this story. This was a very hard story to write I'm sure. He did tell it from both perspectives with no biases. Not blaming nor excusing X for his anger issues and trouble with the law but just explaining it for what it was and for you to decide what you want. It's sad his legacy was tarnished by the trouble, no doubts X was a brilliant musician, his intense stage shows and the love he had for his fans like no other artist before or after. Read it and decide. RIP X.

XXXCELLENT!!!!
Jonathan Reiss has written an incredibly researched book about the fragility of fame, art, capitalism, and humanity and the schism that is always at risk when they collide. This story rips the sheets off of a certain part of the musical underground where cats who can blow up without the Industrial Music Complex colluding. Of course, once they get involved it doesn't usually have a happy ending, but few things that share the ingredients of violent crime, Florida, and sudden, overwhelming success do... this book is a huge achievement, plainly excellent, and uncompromising.

Thank you Jonathan Reiss for the amount of research, perspective and care you put into this book. I became a follower after his death, and reading his story allowed me to see him as the beautiful light he was on this earth. Even in his mistakes, Jah brought attention to many issues prevalent in our society that plague those mostly disenfranchised. The good bad and ugly Jah shared his life with the world. Though his life on earth was cut short, his story will continuously fuel his legacy.
