Great book for somebody who doesn't know anything about zen but would like to learn how to RELAX.
This book soothes my mind. If I'm feeling a little on edge or have a little anxiety, I'll open The Daily Zen journal, and do one of the activities. It calms me and puts me in a clear-headed state. I know this sounds a little silly, but i'm on the computer and phone all day and Ambler's book is a welcomed break. At first I was reading it like a normal book, one page after the other, but then I realized I could also open the book to any page and do one of the zen activities. There are a few exercises in the book I particularly in enjoy which I've ear marked the pages so I can come back to them. This book is useful and easy to read. Quite enjoyable.

Best book ever!!!!
I deeply LOVE this book!!!! Best purchase i have ever made, it really makes me stop and actually pay attention to what is around me. I take this gem with me everywhere i go, miserly when I'm outdoors and when i hike, these times in more grounded and relaxed so i can actually do some of the activities better. All in all its amazing! Highly recommend π€π€π€

Practical workbook to calm one's mind
This workbook, great for self-exploration and mindfulness, is sprinkled with thought-provoking quotes and meaningful exercises. It's perfect for the beginner interested in meditation and makes a great gift!

Wonderful daily companion
This is fantastic for a beginner to Zen and Buddhism like myself. I found the artwork to be a great addition to the text and it really helps bring the exercises alive. It's a great companion to my daily meditation practice.

Didn't live upto my expectations
I love Charlie Ambler's articles and tweets, I read them almost every day. But this journal is just filled with exercises like they teach you in meditation classes or over the meditation apps. I don't find this journal as great as his tweets and articles.
