I have always had good results with NOW brands and usually a good price. I've used this product when I would get really ill with asthma and allergies. It pulled me out of serious "colds/flu" many times. Not a cure, but very helpful. I stopped using it for many years as I stopped being so ill, but Juniper allergies has me using it again. I recommend you ask a clinical nutritionist, or other wellness professional for advise in your particular situation as you may not have the same results I have with it. It was recommended in a book, "The Diet Cure." This is a health book about what supplements might help you with different health problems.

I am a 58 year old night-shift nurse battling to keep my mood up and my mental alertness sharp. I have experimented with other supplements with limited success. But phenylalanine is remarkable. Since taking phenylalanine I have noticed a positive shift in my mood, my outlook on life, and my general sense of well-being. A moment ago I woke up from my sleep with the first thought floating up out of mouth, “What a beautiful day!” That caused my to pause and consider what makes this day beautiful. Outwardly it is not different than any other day. Circumstances have not changed. I did not win the lottery. But here I was sitting up in my bed with this unfamiliar feeling of goodness—or feeling good. I feel good. I feel better. The day seems brighter. And I also sense a strange but welcomed flow of energy affecting my thought life. It is very mild, but noticeable. I am grateful to have found this product. And I hope this review will help others to make an informed decision on the purchase of phenylalanine.

The following advice is for entertainment purposes only and should not be followed by anyone, anywhere, on any planet or nearby multiple universe, at any time. Ever. Never ever ever. Never. Are we good? ok, we're good. Read on. I've been looking for a replacement to the some of the cognitive-enhancing effects of those that were (before the FDA yet AGAIN banned an extremely useful and non-dangerous supplement just so we knew who was boss) in Piracetam or any other racetam's that were on the market up until a year ago. After purchasing L-Tyrosine, Alpha-GPC, 5-htp, NALT, Huperzine-A, and L-Phenylalanine to complement the caffeine, L-theanine, and Choline I had already been taking, I found my mark-money-wise-with this Product. To be sure, these do not touch the effects that Alpha-GPC and NALT had on my total stack for cognitive-enhancement; however, there's a little something called price. And for the price, the L-Phenyl will take you quite a long ways for the money. Alpha-GPC (a cholinergic)and NALT (a dopaminergic) both cross the blood-brain barrier relatively easy and along with the caffeine (as the "boost") and the L-theanine to reduce the anxiety that could result from the mix, that stack is far superior to taking L-Phenylalaline, caffeine, and L-theanine alone. I understand that I haven't spoken on the effects of this product and this product alone, and that's because these will not work alone for the reasons I've listed above without needing something else to kick the dopamine system into action. Because of this, I only use these to support my stack. On days requiring tasks I know will require the utmost mental capabilities, I use my preferred stack (caff/L-theanine/Alpha-GPC/NALT [works MUCH better if taken an hour before your caffeine and on an empty stomach). On days requiring me to be alert, but not necessarily at the top of my game (so, so sorry), I use my second preferred stack (caff/L-theanine/L-Phenyl or NALT.). If I'm particular drowsy, I eliminate the L-theanine and just go for the caff/L-Phenyl or NALT mix. The caffeine I use can be bought here (very cheaply, at about 10 cents per pill, which equals 200mg caffeine). It's straight caffeine, so if you're worried about not getting your anti-oxidants, you might want to stick with your mug of coffee. Also, buying the caffeine in pill form allows me to alter the effects somewhat (1/4 pill, 1/2 pill, etc.). Sometime a whole pill (equal to two cups of coffee) is too much when my work day is a couple hours away from ending. To end, the price/benefit ratio on these is good. By themselves, I get nothing. With caff/L-theanine, I get just what I need to keep my mind at the ready. If you're looking for more, try splurging on NALT and Alpha-GPC. Make sure you're getting your choline, vit B-complex, Magnesium (chelated, preferably), Vitamin C, and fish oils as well. These are essential. No placebo effect with these, as they provide the base with which all other cog-enhancing supplements work. PS. I purposefully left out the quantities of each supplement I take. Your mileage may vary with each. A quick google search on RDA's or "how much x should I take" will get you in the right direction. There are way to many factors involved with each individual to give off the impression that what I take is what someone else might want to try taking as well. I will say this, I don't take the recommended amount on the bottle. They almost always reduce it to a point where they can sell it without having the FDA or some other agency down their throat. A waste for those who take the literal meaning of "safe" when a governmental agency says it. I wish you the best in finding out what works best for you. Good luck.
