excellent engine assembly lube.
this stuff works great.feels dry for a lithium base lubricant.you can feel the zinc and molyedium in it.also it speads easily over bearings and stays there doesn't run off like other lubes.i will only use this stuff from now on.it works that good and its really reasonably priced here on amazon.this stuff is fantastic when installing pistons.you smear some in cylinder bore then install piston and rod assembly.do not dunk your pistons in oil.why would you put oil on top of your pistons and in between your rings?are you trying to create carbon build up.after you install pistons turn engine over and put some oil on piston wrist pins to lube them.Keith black taught me this procedure many years ago at an engine building seminar.note always use zinc when building old school engines!best break in lube there is!and if possible Prime the oil pump before start up.I used to use lubriplate lube this is better as it has zinc in it.I have built 100's of performance engines over the years.I don't even know how many engines and transmissions i have built for GM over the years in the thousands im sure.so trust me comp makes good stuff!

Won’t run off / jar does not have a seal
Picked this because it won’t run off a cam if the engine sits for a while before being started. Really wish the jar had some type of seal so I could have confidence that it never had an opportunity to be opened/contaminated before making its way to me form Comp.

Comp Cams #104 I thought was WHITE but mine is RED?
I always conduct thorough research on products before making a purchase. For the product labeled as Comp Cams #104, I had read that it was supposed to be white with a dry-to-the-touch viscosity, and some even mentioned being able to feel the Molly embedded materials. However, upon receiving the product, I found that it was red in color and had a standard sticky grease-like viscosity, which was surprising and disappointing. I am uncertain if I received a mislabeled product or if it is a generic version rather than the authentic Comp Cams #104. If anyone else has encountered a similar experience, I would appreciate hearing about it, especially considering that I am hesitant to use an unknown product in an engine build that is a significant investment of $20K and growing more expensive daily.Anyone else receive this same product looking like this?
