Superlative Quality in an Italian-Made Protection Case
Yes, you read that right, this case from HPRC is actually made in Italy, and you feel the quality and ruggedness of the case the minute you pick it up. Before I talk about the case itself, let me sound a note of caution: HPRC makes a large line of cases of all different sizes and thicknesses. You have to be careful before you decide on a particular model because it's not difficult to get one too large or too small for what you are wanting. Carefully check the dimensions of the case and think about exactly what you want to put in a case before you purchase. Now, on to the case. Wow, was I impressed when I purchased my first HPRC in 2015 (in fact, it was this very model: I can't imagine why I haven't written a review about it until now!). The case just oozes quality. Yes, it is visually attractive (and I now use cases in three different colors: black, blue, and red ... the yellow is difficult to get in the United States), but beyond that, it has all the hallmarks of what you wish for in a case like this. The sides are tough and thick, the hinge operates smoothly, without noise, and it built on a metal hinge design inside the plastic. The front clasps work extremely well, snapping very tight and into a reassuringly solid position, but are also easy to both open and close. An affixed dual-band of slightly softer material (see the product images) rings the case, probably both for visual design but also to help reduce scratching to the outer case material. There are lock holes on the front of the case so that if you wish to padlock or wire lock the case, you are all set for that. The front handle swivels and employs a heavy rubberized padding in the center for comfort. The handle swivels smoothly and is built to hold significant amounts of weight since this is the principal manner in which you will move the case around.Although there are options, I highly recommend the cubed foam center. It's true that this carries with it some real work in determining which cubes to remove to hold the specific items you intend to insert. The cubed foam is also of superior quality, and if you take the time to carefully plan before you start pulling cubes, you can come out with a truly useful and customized protection system for your items. The thing is, however, that you really have to take your time on this, and resist the urge to start pulling cubes. What I've done is to first take the items I want to fit into the case, and try different configurations, laying the parts on top of the new cube foam until I find the orientations that are best. Only after that, taking time to carefully pull the cubes can result in a great outcome. But I speak from experience: on my first try, I got ahead of myself, and ended up with something that wasn't that great, and so I made do until I finally ordered a replacement cubed foam set. It's great that you can replace the internal foam, but, unfortunately, the foam itself is quite expensive. So, you want to do everything in your power to take your time so you get it right on the first try.I have four of these cases (in different sizes, and one that is wheeled with an extender handle), and they are all remarkably well built and impressive items. I use them primarily for photography equipment (cameras and lenses) but the truth is that you can use these for anything you want to be protected. They are not cheap by any means, but they are of a quality level that distinguish themselves from cheaper cases. I cannot but give them my highest recommendation. Just remember the three important items I've mentioned:1. Compare the various HPRC case dimensions available against the set of equipment/items you want to protect. (I recommend that you FIRST get everything together that you know you want to put ina case, and get sense of what size you will need. THEN review the case dimensions of the various HPRC models that are sold.)2. I recommend the cubed foam version for the ultimate customization and the greatest protection.3. DON'T BE IN A RUSH TO START PULLING THE FOAM CUBES! Take time to lay out your equipment on top of the new foam before you even think about pulling the foam, and experiment with different configurations. This will allow you to get the maximum amount of equipment in the case with the greatest amount of protection. If you mess up, try not to get too worked up about it (like I initially did). It's something of an art to get the best layout. The foam inserts are available, so you can always start "fresh" (even though it's not cheap). Another tip along these lines: if you "mess up" the first time, see if you can use the case and foam for something else that you might not have originally planned to put in a case, and then buy a completely new case with cubed foam to start over. Sounds a bit crazy, I know, but it might actually be the most economical approach due to the cost of the foam replacements. Just a suggestion.Without hesitation, this is a Five-Star item. Made in Italy. Sturdy. Attractive. Functional. Replacement foam available. Some accessories, too, are available. Great for cameras, lenses, electronic equipment, but in reality, for nearly anything you might want to be protected.

You might not get what you ordered
Would have gave it a 5 but when I first ordered the HPRC 2400E I got a completely different case (soft shell). Second time around I got the right case but wrong color.

Great case for the money.
The case material is a thinner plastic than the pelican brand ones. I needed a case to keep electronics dry. The latches are strong and the gasket creates a good seal. The sizes listed are true to the case size. The handle is sturdy. There is a place to put an ID card. I sprayed the case with water and left it out in the rain for half a day and everything inside was dry. Overall a great case for the money.

Great case for shipping valuables on airline
I have used several of the competing brands, and find this one easy to use, and when it is snapped shut, it stays shut, but is easy to open without breaking your fingernails. It has provision for two heavy duty locks, one on each side. It also comes with foam that can be tailored to suit your specific needs. Highly recommended for airline use.

Excellent all purpose durable case!
This case is great for just about anything. It's extremely durable, functional and flexible in that you can customize it to fit whatever contents you need. It is just about perfect for a digital camera. I use one for a canon DSLR t2i. Worth the investment, better than cases that cost more. It will take you some time to get the foam the way you want it, but trust me, it is worth the effort. It is a professional level case yet it is still light enough for daily use. I don;t work for HPRC : ) Just an everyday user that really digs this case. I'm trying to think of a negative and maybe you could snap your fingers in it if you are careless, but that's about it (but you would have to be really careless). Just an all around excellent case for seriously protecting your electronics, DSLRS, camcorders, etc. Highly recommended!
