Don’t waste your money, it sucks!
Extremely disappointed based on the reviews before I purchased. The pictures and knot instructions are poor and lacking and very few even show actual fishing line. The pictures illustrate with par accord and magically skip right to the end of the knot being tied meaning you’ll just end up on YouTube to learn it anyway. For the book being called ‘The Complete Book of Fishing Knots...’ it doesn’t even cover popular knots like the Uni, Double Uni, FG and many more. Knots like the Bimini Twist are simply repeated in many of the chapters. As a US Navy sailor and amateur angler I seem to know more about knot terminology than the author. He commonly refers to bight as a loop... suggests passing the ‘Standing End’ back through the hook eye pg. 93 ‘Egg Loop’...which by the way unless on a leader would be attached to your reel. Pg.134 His double nail knot is actually a double UNI...

Very nicely done book in terms of publishing values, but
I have a lot of knot tying books--it's kind of a hobby of mind and I honestly had a hard time following how to do some of the common knows (Albright, blood, etc). The illustrations are confusing and I think in the case of the Albright possibly inaccurate. It's a pretty book, but I can think of several others that do a better job in teaching you how to do a knot.

Some good, some knot
This book's color illustrations (with colored ropes) are often helpful, but sometimes they look like tangles. the written instructions also are sometimes good, but they sometimes need more precise terminology. The knots included are generally OK, but there is perhaps too much attention to traditional knots that no are no longer very useful--and when is the last time you needed a Bimini twist?

Waste of money.
The author is very knowledgable, but the ILLUSTRATIONS ARE NOT ADEQUATE. I was unable to replicate any knot in this book. Tying knots is a subject best taught in person or in videos. It does not translate well in books.

'Knot' your average book on Fishing Knots
Found it at an on line thrift store and what a find! A little 6" x 4" book, but with big glossy pictures and simple to follow instructions. There is lots of information on line type and knot choice in Chapter 2 (including wire), plus a great suggestion on knots you need to know (that is just chap. 3). Photos' use giant hooks with para-cord for line so it is easy to visualize. Whether your six or 106, if you ever put a pole in water, this is a great pick for your library. Plus chapter 10 has an idea for a better way to tie your shoes.

Price
Excellent price and content. Only problem I have with this book is that it is too rigid and you cannot open the book and set it down to an open page while using your hands to practice the the knot while following along as the book will close when set down

The book is ok but not as informative as I'd like. Unless you are good at studying photos you will have a difficult time learning to tie the knots detailed in the book because there is not a step-by-step photo demonstration.

Good info bu t can be difficult to see pics.
Good info, but if you are red green color blind, you won't be able to see many of the pictures!

A knot for every occasion
Knots, knots, and yet more knots. I never knew there were so many!A valuable bible of knots with photo illustrations using the biggest shark hook I've ever seen and coloured ropes.Interesting histories about some knots such as the Ovis knot (you'll have to buy it to find out!), and at the end there is even a section on a novel non slip shoe lace knot. Good reference book.
