With friends like Reacher
Don't know too much about Nick Heller, but I would not want to be up against him and Reacher. Teamwork is what this was about. My only problem with this is I wanted more of these two guys. The action was great.

A darn shame
Pissed me off!!! Why? Because this would have been life changing to see these two boys working together!!! So, what did these two authors do? They start and end a great story in about four pages. Why not write a whole book? This would have been a great, awesome new story for Reacher. Makes total sense that he could run into someone like himself, they tend to help out the underdog in a clinch. Why end this great beginning I a few pages? I can see a plot going all the way through fruition and a successful ending in a full size book. It would have been a terrific book that these two authors were too lazy to write. A darn shame !

I enjoyed this action-filled quick-moving funny tale
I enjoyed the humor and action in this story where the heroes are unafraid to go up against a mobster with a gun. Nick Heller is one. He is a private spy who works for politicians and governments and corporations to dig up secrets. He roots for the Red Sox. In contrast Jack Reacher is unemployed and constantly gets involved in fights because he tries to help people. He is for the Yankees.Reacher enters a Boston bar to watch the ball game between the Red Sox and the Yankees. He takes a seat next to a severely overweight nervous fellow. Nick Heller happened to enter the same bar. But he was for the Red Sox. He took a seat on the fat man’s other side. The fat man was eying the two men, not knowing who they were. Then terrified, the fat man said, “I’m waiting for someone to break my legs.”What happens next is funny, and full of action.

A tidy little tale of Reacher and Heller
This story is quick and painless, unless you’re the bad guy. The two authors did a good job of mixing/alternating their respective hero characters.

As said before, all Jack Reacher is good Jack Reacher but, darnit, ...
... now I need to know more about Nick Heller and his adventures so more reading to come. And I will also try to forgive them both for their sad and unfortunate tastes in baseball teams. This was a good short read.

Near Miss
3 stars when compared to / contrasted with “Cleaning the Gold,” another collaborative short story by Child … with Karin Slaughter, which I rated with 5 stars. This effort missed opportunities to reveal something more about either Reacher’s or Heller’s character. The foil, both the soon-to-be-victim and his persecutor, over which they seemed to bond was cliche and evoked no emotional investment. And so on. The anticipated resolution was thus not compelling. The closing paragraph may be the book’s most entertaining.

Too Short
This is apparently an advertisement for a series of books. There is very little analysis, so the title is misleading. It basically contains one short story that was a cooperation between Lee Child and Joseph Finder, that has both there characters in it, and it was a good story, but was way to short to make the book worthwhile. It also was an advertisement for more short stories written by duos of authors.

Succinct and interesting
I'm a huge fan of Lee Child and his Character. Hoping to find another author to read and the character Nick Heller may just be one to follow!

Was good. Not enough.
A fairy tale ending. No plot. Nothing interesting. Just an effortless write for the authors. May be it would have been better if this was a collaboration between actual publication houses. And not contributions.

Kein richtiger Jack Reacher, aber gut
Mal etwas anders.
