Quilter's Dream Midnight Black Poly Batting - Mid Loft- Queen

Quilters Dream Select 100% natural cotton is almost always my first choice in batting. And I wish it came in black.I recently finished a top and it's got a lot of negative space and the background fabric is a dark navy mixed with onyx blender. My plan was to do a lot of dense quilting in that background. I selected a matching variegated cotton thread. And the top and the batting and the thread sat while I looked and looked for a cotton or wool batting available in black.Well I didn't find any so I settled on this. I really hate polyester batting, but I hated the idea of little white or natural colored fibers peeking through the stitching in the quilting or the binding even more.Well I finished the quilt. This batting performed just fine, but it's still polyester and I don't like how it feels, how it drapes, and how it got creases that won't come out and I only had that quilt folded for a day with nothing sitting on top of it.So if you usually use polyester batting you're going to be very happy with this one. If you've got a dark quilt I still think this is the right choice. But if you don't normally use polyester and you're like me, getting this because you have a dark quilt but wishing it was cotton or wool: please set your expectations accordingly. And don't fold that quilt! Hang it, put it on a bed, roll it up, but don't fold it or you'll get those dreaded creases too.

Dream Poly is certainly a dream. Saved this purchase for my Japanese hand appliqued over the back of the bed wall hanging. Hand quilting the loft of dream poly is heavenly. Appreciate using the best product for my best quilt.

I have tried other brands of black batting but Quilters Dream is the best by far. It is very even thoughout - no thin spots which has been been a problem for me with other brands.

Quilted beautifully on my longarm and turned out well.

Quilted a mostly black (red) quilt. This stuff always quilts up nicely, without being quilted densely.

Worked wonderful! Easy to work with, lay flat and is a nice weight.
