Mounting it isn't all that easy!
I bought the 8" version of this fan, which is really quiet, and moves a lot of air, spec says over 400 cu feet/min. Mounting the fan is a chore - two european-style bolts about 1/2" long are all that is available. These normally hold only the motor & fan support bracket. You could drill some extra mounting holes if you wanted to - there's pleanty of room.. You'll probably need longer versions of the mounting bolts, just remember they aren't American threads, and they're about a number 6 - sized bolt. The unit is light enough for these to carry its weight, but I'd really rather have larger mounting bolts. These are really nice units, the speed controller works smoothly and doesn't get hot. And I must mention that the price is quite reasonalble, as well. I was pleased with the product and bet you will be, too. - Jim, the Corndodger

Definitely would recommend 👌
Sucking or blowing this fan works well. The noise level is very low and cant be adjusted more with speed controller, not heavy and easily installed alone. The fans power and air flow are perfect for the size of fan.

Good Quality. Not Super Quiet.
This is a nice quality product. It has a cord that is plenty long and a rheostat switch so you can select any speed from pretty slow to fast. It moves quite a bit of air. It is not as quiet as we'd like, but I think that the noise is actually the sound of the air passing fast through the vents, not the motor itself. Installed fairly easily into existing 6" round ductwork. I secured in place with duct tape all around because it was in an awkward location behind other ductwork and I couldn't get screws into it because of lack of access.

Using as an attic ventilator. Low noise/vibration, satisfied with performance.
This review is for AC Infinity RAXIAL S8, Inline Booster Duct Fan 8” with Speed Controller - Low Noise Inline HVAC Blower Can Fan for Basements, Bathrooms, Kitchens, Workshops. The fan was delivered on-time, complete, and as described by the seller. It was well-packaged in a custom box and included a user manual, 2-year warranty information, and hardware for mounting the speed controller. The cylindrical structure is sturdy and nicely finished, the plug-in power cable and speed controller are integrated and the fan runs smoothly with little vibration. The speed is continuously variable with a dial control from OFF to maximum; at highest speed it makes about as much noise as a pedestal fan….. the sound is principally from the airflow itself. The fan has steel blades and is designed to be mounted/suspended inline in an 8-inch diameter ductwork; there are no mounting brackets provided. I am using this fan, funning at medium speed, to increase ventilation in my attic with the expectation of improving the efficiency of my A/C system (also installing a reflective radiant barrier throughout); so far I am satisfied with the performance. I am using an Amazon Smart Plug with the Alexa application to run the fan on a regular routine and/or use voice commands to turn on and off remotely as needed.

lack of torque -> certainly; false advertisement -> certainly; does it work? well kind of
I bought in total 5 of 8 inch fans and 2 4 inch fans. Overall, I stress on the word "overall", they do ok. 3 stars rating is as generous as I am willing to go. I want to confirm a few critical review points from other customers.1. lack of torque -> this is serious. Once you connect the fan to duct hoses, it's WEAK. e.g. I leave one side open and one side connected to 8 feet long 4 inch hose. the best air speed I get is roughly 5m/s, which is equivalent to roughly 100CMF, well below 400. Why? LACK OF TORQUE!! It's understandable that efficiency will drop due to size change in connections but from 400 to 100? no, firmly no.2. the fan blade is definitely smaller than the ads photo and also not the same. there are plenty of pictures posted already. I can positively confirm that. Why 3 stars then not 1? Well, I have also tried other inline fans within $40 price range. This one is the best I can find. It's not noisy once connected to the hose (of course it doesn't move much air either). Its outlook is nice and I don't hear common rattle sound either. but it does not move 428 CFM equivalent air, not even close. Will I buy it again? probably. But I must write this review to help future buyers realize that just because this product has 4+ rating, it doesn't mean it's gonna move so much air so well, etc etc etc.

More solid and cheaper than local
Rented out a house where I had to run heat to a bedroom and bathroom that the previous owner converted from a garage. Ran duct instead of the baseboard heater that was previously installed. It was a pretty long run, about 35' of 8" ducting and a couple branching off of that. 4 total registers. Went to the orange store to buy one of these but they didn't have the 8" in stock. Said I'd have to order it online and when It comes to that, I'd rather just order it on Amazon. This thing is solid. Metal fan blade, pretty solid housing. And cheaper than the store by about $20. Probably got it faster than if I'd ordered from the store too. The housing is a little smaller than a normal metal pipe but it wasn't a major difference and was a tight fit with the tape. I supported it from the ceiling because it has a little weight to it but that's a good thing. It actually looks nice, too bad it's mostly covered by the other ducts. Love the fact that it has a speed control on it, makes it more adjustable. It's not just 3 settings, it has "off" and all the way up to high is incrementally adjustable. It pushes some serious air. Without it attached to the duct work, it seemed like it was pretty loud on high but with it attached, it's no louder than the furnace. I also got a BN-LINK Heat Mat controller because the one at the store looked old, clunky and awkward. It was also more expensive. So I got that and it works great when the furnace is on and turns off when the furnace turns off. I'm happy with the setup and the price. Tenants love it because it makes that bedroom and bathroom warm like the rest of the house. Sorry for the long post but I like to give credit for a good product and show how I ended up using it.
